Well it was time to head out to find some restoration parts for the '65...went to Autobahn. What a super experience, Sean was great to work with...I hate to say it I never really got to talk to him before. Neat guy!...even if he does drive one of those funny little water cooled cars. :)

If you guys need parts...give them a try!

John

Ditto that. Sean is a big supporter of the club and it's members. If he doesn't have the part he helps you look for it. Besides that he is a great friend.

Ditto too (2?)

He's helped us with Beamer parts too, and where to get a real affordable paint job.

Sean and John have taken care of a lot of us, and saved our proverbial bacon! :D

That includes not only the 944 Spec cars, but any Porsche or BMW.

Sean even found a Euro only light for my Turbo that I had been told could not be found in the US!

Now, if only we could keep him busy enough at work to either slow him down on the track or keep him off of it ...........

Support those who support us!!!!! :beerchug:

I'll add my kudos to the cranial-expansion factor--I am really glad to have a local source for used, unobtanium parts like Autobahn. They have helped me out many times over the years in keeping my older "classic" cars running that the factory abandoned years ago, parts-wise.

Muchas Gracias, Sean!

Sean and John are GREAT guys. From rebuilding my old 944 to building up the SC (both of which needed lots and lots of help) those guys have had a fantastic service and knowledge record with me. One of the best things to happen to PCASDR and San Diego County German Car owners is  Autobahn Dismantler's.

Thanks, guys!

BTW: Sean; your most recent "illumination" was perfect. I can see clearly now ...

I just wanted to thank everybody for the kind words. We do our best to keep everybody supplied with quality used Porsche and BMW parts. It's been 20 years in the same location, let's see how long we can pull this one off!! :) John and I had an idea and some input would be great. We would like to have an annual parts swap meet at Autobahn, setup tables all over the place and let everybody bring their own goodies to sell. Our parking lot is large enough that it would work. People could just park on the back of the building. We just need to figure out a good time of year. I would Probably have it on a Saturday. It could even be a sort of club thing?

That sounds like a great idea, we have needed a formal swap meet in San Diego. They did have one up in Rainbow a few years ago and there used to be the one in Anaheim but something local would be great.

They are usually winter and spring events back East, but since our racing season is year-round just about anytime would work.

JSYK: John Chambers had a Swap Meet last winter in Oceanside. Unfortunately it was on the same day as the Super Bowl (?) and turn-out was sparse. He's been thinking of doing another one, and claims interest is high, but getting the word out and getting sellers in has been a challenge.

Sean, you should talk to John and maybe put your heads together on this. I think a Swap Meet would be great. I've got plenty of things to sell, and open up my garage for .... uh ..... more stuff!
