Im looking to get a race seat. I hear i should try them out before i buy, but where in SD can i go, besides an auto-x and sitting in everyones car?

Any small shops with race seats?

Any seats better for porsche than another?

I need one with a hole for my anti-sub belt, a boxster, and to sit as low as possible.

I am hoping to have prior to the fontana DE in June.... so i need to get on it.

Thanx,

Try C2 Motorsports on Vickers street. Talk to Steve Coe. Tell him what you are looking for in a seat and he can help you out. ask for a discount for your PCA membership and tell him that I sent you to talk to him.

Also try out Group 5 in the miramar zone... ask for Troy. He 2 helps out the Porsche family. :D

TJ:

Seats are like buying a suit. The fit will depend on the maker, and your body size. One size definitely does not fit all. Be sure to consider long-drive comfort if you plan to drive-to and drive-from the track. What works nicely on the track for 1/2 hour sessions may leave you numb after 2 hours on the fwy. (My seats require a little extra pad for long-distance driving. )

As for a center-slot for a sub-belt, most seats come with the center slot option, so remember to order /buy the seat with that option.

From experience I know that Recaro, Sparko, and Momo have seat-rail/seat-mounts specifically for Porsches. So, when you buy the seat, be sure to order the right seat mounting hardware for your car. Depending on the MFGR, the mounting hardware will run an extra $75.00 to $150.00 per seat.

Good luck!
