AX Tread Depth

Hello Guys,
I'm looking forward to the AX on the 19th. I had a question about tread depth.

My tires are "not quite" down to the wear indicators. I wouldn't think that they would be down to them with only a couple of weekends of driving left before the AX.

The rule states that the tires are required to have 1/16" of tread on the tires. What is the height of the wear indicators?

I plan on replacing the tires after the AX, but figured "why rip up a set of new tires".

If they are street tires and you are not well into the wear bars they should be OK, but you will wear the outer edge most likely, not near the wearbars. Really check the inside and outside shoulders of all four tires for any sign of cord. If wear is fairly even, you should be ok, just keep checking after each session.

The wear bars are usually molded in at 2/32", so as long as you aren't into them, you should be OK, but check the shoulders for wear, as Jad suggested. Many street tires will work better in an autox when they are worn way down, as the tread won't squirm as much as a new tire. Almost bald can be OK, but cord showing is bad.
