Someone left a (rather nice) tire pressure gauge on my plastic bin. If the owner would identify it I'm happy to arrange a return.

I know how he did it!!!! Let's just say that if it was raining yesterday, Dan would have been in trouble....

Seriously, congrats to Dan on the TTOD yesterday. We know how he lobbied for it (I mean earned) it!!! :roflmao:

Thanks to the AX team for a great track, fun day and the extra laps were a bonus. Timing and scoring did an outstanding job all day as well!!! :beerchug:

Great AX yesterday!! That was a real tough layout and a lot of fun to try and get it right. Morgan, You drove like a madman. Dan A., all of the stars lined up for you and I heard that Satan was ice skating. :roflmao: I can't wait to hear your pre-excuses for the next one.

Okay, I've been lurking around the forum for long enough and am at least not a complete stranger to a few of you so I figure it's about time I posted a comment or two.

In addition to a wonderfully run event (as I have quickly learned with this group is the norm!) and thank you to all who makes these events possible, I wanted to specifically commend Bill and the rest of the track design team for this awesome track. I can't really pinpoint exactly what made it so much fun but boy it was a blast! :beerchug:

Oh, and whoever (sorry I don't know your name) was doing the annoucements during the timed runs did a great job adding their own personal touch to things...I laughed out loud more than once :roflmao:

Until next time...

Adam...apparently to some also known as "Kansas"

Hey Kansas, thanks for the recognition and kind words, but the AX Team really needs to thank those who show up at 6AM to help us get all the details in place for these events. It's lonely out there for us at 5:30AM, but when the gang starts showing, it makes our day. They know who they are, but Tom, Gerry, Andy, Steve, Don, Bob, Sean and all the others on the Tech Team, Timing, Logistics, etc., are indespensible. Without that help, we couldn't get it done on time and get 15 laps into each AX.

So, here's a big THANK YOU to you all who help make these events possible. The SDR AX is legendary and YOU are the reason.

Congrats to Dan A. for stumping out a TTOD. After letting the air out of Peter's tires, re-adjusting Jae's front sway bar so it wouldn't turn-in, pulling no.3 sparkplug wire on Roland's car, and paying off the timing Team's mortgages ... you really drove well. :roflmao:

That track was really great. It was definitely a game of patience to get a decent time. Kudo's to the designers for creating a track that took more brains than brawn (HP) to drive well. Do more of those!!

Morgan T: Dude! That was really something! Let's get you a 3.6 from Kinninger or Grosekemper and see where Dan A. lands in the standings. :beerchug: That was really awesome.

Mark R.: thanks for setting the benchmark. You keep puttin' them up, I'll keep knockin' 'em down.

Looking forward to the next one...

Does this mean I'm going to finally see the end of the "It's your turbo HP that's making the difference" complaints?

I hope not.....the world may fall off it's axis! :beerchug:

Im ready for a 3.6! or a turbo! both would have been handy on this course. big transitions and long straights ! a lot of power and big brakes. that would be sweet!

Patricia Lynn and I really enjoyed seeing our SDR friends again and driving on the great course that was set up for last Sunday's autocross. It was fun driving on such a challenging course that featured all the on and off-cambered and increasing and decreasing-radius turns that typify most of the course layouts at Qualcomm. I especially enjoyed flat-spotting (actually melting) one of our new front v710's braking for the tight off-cambered corner at the end of the upper straight. It was a great course and was very similar to the layout we last drove in August of last year.

I was glad to be a witness to Dan's TTOD finish and wonder when was the last time a long-hood accomplished that feat. Congratulations Dan!

If any of you want a challenge of a different type, you are welcomed to come up to one of OCR's El Toro autocross events and enjoy driving on a hotter (weather-wise), flat, long and fast course that is normally set up on the old runways. You need to register early because the events always sell out and you have to get used to seeing a C5 Vette, Ferrari or some other non-Porsche take TTOD.

Thanks to everyone for all your hospitality and friendliness,

Rod Taylor

Thanks Peter, Rod , Mark and er uh Dan?

This was not an HP track. I am not sure what track some were driving but I didn't see long straights (plural) except for the one at the very top. All of the other sections had camber changes and curves to them IMHO. Just like others have duly noted, patience and momentum was your friend and my hats off to those in the 1:26's in your 944's , that was excellent!. There were a lot of really fast times out there, congrats to you all!

on a side note - Peter B. was witness to my windshield wiper ritual for timed runs and made fun of me immediately, he was cracking me up! Said I should eat a salad instead!! :roflmao: I am sure that change doesn't amount to any time advantage..

Thanks to everyone involved for making sure the timing worked all day! And for a great event! I will savor this as long as I can because now their gunning for me... :beerchug:
