Spring Mountain Time Trial

Just wanted to be the first to say thanks to Jack and Robert for another really great event.
I think this was our most uneventful event in a long time. Cars were super reliable and there was an uncharacteristic lack for people playing in the dirt...
Paul Sr.? Were you feeling OK?

I personally got my first taste of sticker 710's and going from fresh 225 RA-1's to new 245/265 710's was ridiculous.

Sunday morning practice yielded some really fast times.
I got some pretty sweet video of a Gulf 911 getting a big 'ol passing flag as I was on his tail
(My new screen saver)

Come to the next Motorhead Monday to see that as well as a super fast boxster pass me and then head off into the desert.
There may be other interesting outakes and dicing.

Button Willow is only 5 weeks away!
I already have a Hotel and Garage!
You don't want to miss this last event of the year!

Some cars had minor issues. :surr:

Yes, it was a rather clean event, but I did find time to play in the gravel just before Turn 13 (old 5B). I jetted out of there quickly to avoid being too much of a spectacle - thanks for asking Steve.

It was indeed a really fun event - many thanks to Jack, Robert, and their team for making it so.
I hadn't been there for over two years, and it was great to be back!

Thanks to Robert and Jack for another great event. I will post pictures soon and will have some video for Motorhead Monday. Some of the features will be Leigh parked in the gravel at the end of Ego Check (I know someone has to have video of me parked there as well), and Sean creating a dust screen to try and confuse me.

Special thanks to Phil and Jackie Corwin for hosting the Friday and Saturday night Margarita parties and for all the wonderful food, smoothies and good times. :beerchug:

Thanks to Jad for helping me shave off another 2 seconds.

My thanks also. Robert and Jack put on a great event. Even though my weekend ended early, I'll be back. Thanks also to Phil for all the help and cooking and to Jackie for the super instruction. Great food, fun people and a great track.

DQ, where were you? Robert said it may be another day. TTOD was closely guarded throughout the weekend but the podium finish goes to

Thank you one and all. This was my first TT and I felt very warmly welcomed... like one of the family. Special thanks to Phil for taking such good care of all of us, to Chuck Sharp for giving me the Spring Mtn. basic training and drift clinic on Saturday, Debbie Sharp for being my tag team partner, and Jackie for helping me squeeze out another 1.5 sec. just before timing. I had a blast and managed to avoid the "Baja 1000 Boxster " comparisons all weekend :) . Can we do this again please?

Oh and the TTOD was a real surprise DQ...

Another great event. I logged another 280 miles of track driving this weekend, just like at the May TT. Tried out RA-1's and made a sway bar adjustment and knocked 4 seconds off my best time at the May TT. Now the car feels much better. If only Sean and Jackie would slow down enough to let the rest of us 944's follow them. Instead they pass and run away from the other 944's. You guys are great.

Jackie and Phil, thanks for the hospitality and food, and a special thanks to Jack and Rob for continuing to put on such well run and great events. See you all at Buttonwillow.

I think there was a "pro" photographer at Spring Mountain last weekend. Anyone get his website address or contact info?
