Other Car AX - Instructors needed to give rides

Postby Bill Behun on Wed Dec 02, 2009 1:16 pm

This event will have the normal number of students needing instructors and we will need instructors also to give rides to friends/family of PCA members.

We usually have 8-12 students with instructors and usually 15 additional instructors attending.

If we have many friends/family folks who want to experience the AX at speed, we will need many instructors to just give rides. We won't know how many friends/family may be attending until the morning of the event. If possible, please consider giving rides. If you have an extra approved helmet that you can lend to the AX team, that would be appreciated. We may not have enough of the regular club helmets. We are getting helmet head socks for the friends/family who will be using helmets.

Please let us know on the forum if you can give rides so we can get an idea of how many friends/family can be accomodated. Can also email me at behun@cox.net

This could work out great - could be chaos. We'll see! Trying to avoid chaos.

Thanks,
The AX team

I have a student lined up but am willing to perform the selfless act of giving extra fun laps if there is the need :D

Dave - Kelsey drives well. Unfortunately, only instructors can give rides (except for the noontime Parade Laps). Is Kelsey an instructor?

Bill-

I will give rides in the Ultima if I am not assigned a student, as long as it is not raining that day. The long range forecast is looking stormy for next week, and if the course is wet, I will not run--it's a pretty silly car on slicks in the rain (BTDT).

My only spare helmet is out of date, though (SA95), so I can't help with that.

I'll be there, in case someone wants to experience what going sideways in a Boxster feels like.

Thanks everyone. Hope it doesn't rain!

Kim - just make sure you go sideways, errr, even backwards through the timing lights like you did for your parents!
