After 15 years as a club member, I am about to make my first post to the forum. I have to agree with Jerry that I also had "TOO MUCH FUN!" yesterday at the AX. Contrary to popular opinion, I actually drove the GT3 without hurting myself or the car, or giving Mike a heart attack. Although, it took me much coaxing to get him to even take the car out of the garage yesterday morning, with the drizzle and all, he is such a great husband, always wanting to make me happy, he finally agreed. The GT3 is a phenomenal car, driven with street tires yesterday, I was slipping and sliding all over, and smiling from ear to ear as it just hung on and kept going. Just one time I wanted to see what the it meant to have 380 hp so I put my foot in it and couldn't quite make the next turn, but Bob Hallet who was corner working thought it was pretty entertaining. It takes a little longer to slow down than my 84 911. So a big "Thank-You" to the the AX team, Bill Behun, Don Middleton, Kim Crosser, John Komer, Mike Brown and Jerry Bumpus and Don Auten and anyone else I forgot to mention. Jerry you will be a great AX Chair for 2010. Thanks for not quiting at Noon. All the AX Junkies applaud you! Oh, and by the way, Mike is in the garage cleaning all the grit and grease off his beautiful GT3. :D

Anglea, you were looking very "hot" out there yesterday. What was it , the big grin? Did you lose weight or change or your hair style? I'll bet it was the way your wore (out) that GT3. "Too much good stuff..."

That really was a great time. Only got caught outside in any real rain a couple times throughout the day but with so many laps to be had it was well worth it. Perfect weather to take my wife's WRX out on the track

I had a great time, too. Thanks everyone for staying for the afternoon. I think I got 19 runs.

This was the first time my oldest daughter was able to autocross my 944spec car, since she is off for Christmas break from college. She has previously autocrossed my BMW M3 for a couple of years. She did great in the wet considering the car had shaved RA1's on the rear and partial tread R888's on the front and not being used to a car without ABS. Thank you Tony Comeau for your instructing her all day long, even with the sunroof leak over the passenger seat.

I was very impressed with the speed and control the GT3's showed in the wet. I enjoyed watching them while working the course.

My car has a Guard Transmission LSD. It is set up with 40/60 (or is that 60/40) lockup. This rainy day REALLY brought out the advantage of this LSD with lockup on deceleration when throttle steering in the very wet bottom of the track double apex left hand turn.

The R compound tires had more traction in the wet than I thought they would, except for the deeper standing water area near the braking zone at the bottom of the hill. Standing water wins hands down.

Thank you corner workers for picking up all the cones I hit during my first run session while I was driving like it was dry in the wet. After that I thought a bit and drove smoother, safer, and had more fun.

Lucky Dave! :D

I was out adjusting the track when I suddenly heard this groaning monster roar.

I looked up to see this SUBURBAN tilted coming out of the slalom and heading my way. :(

I quickly made sure I was out of the way to then see you driving it and passenger Jerry Bumpus laughing at me.

It looked like a blast and was a 'crack-up' to watch. Cool!

It was a good day, the San Diego State folks really appreciate our support and they had a great time as ride-alongs.
It was nice to get some dry track at the end of the day and then still have some wet in the flats to remind you what you need to do when it's wet.
I too think I got 19 laps in. :beerchug:

What a hoot! Robbie and I are still trying to get the grins off our faces. We had Eibach pro-street spring set and a 19 mm Progressive Rear sway bar installed into the little Mis-Fit at Volker's the day before, so we had no idea of how the car would handle. The kit really changes the whole nature of the car. Too nuch fun. Cannot wait until next years Other car AX or coming down the hill from Julian.

Thanks to all the AX Chair folks for having a great AX day even in the rain. Corner working at turn 5 during the down pour was a bit dodgy but it was the place to see the best spins and slides, :D

Merry Christmas Everyone
