Steering wheel removal. (924)

Hi all. I am having the teens switch out the steering wheeel this week and am prepping for it. The removal process I find at sites regarding the horn pad all say something like "pull hard and steady on the pad till it pops off, don't worry about breaking it". Well, while I am not "worried" I would rather not break it if I dont have to. Any suggestions?

Cheers!
Mark

It will pop off without breaking- I don't think the instructions are saying "so what if it breaks" but rather "the horn pad is sturdy and unlikely to break"

There are 4? pressure tabs holding the pad on. I just carefully pull one off at a time and they do come off pretty well.

Make sure you have a 24MM socket and 1/2 breaker bar with extension as well.

Will do! It is interesting that the various instructions I have found give the nut size to be from 24-27mm depending on the source. :? Soooo...24 is the real magilla?

I believe the 924S is 24mm, 911s are 27mm. I have both you can borrow.

Well then that settles it. A tempting offer on the tool my friend. However I believe the gent (Craig) leading the teens on this particular project has both. While a young lady with experience in car-wraps will be overseeing the application of the graphics. It should be a fruitful evening! I will be snapping photos.

Thank you though :D
