Just stopped by the SD Auto Museum to check out the Porsche Race Car show. Our club has a great representation there. The 944GTR, 904, and 962 are awesome. It runs to the end of January. A great DVD also playing with a lot of cool race footage.

If you have time check it out.

Thanks, John, oh most senior and respected SDR member! :)
I plan on gathering the 944 social group in Jan and including a stop at the museum on our 944 tour around town. It will be cool for the new guys to see Dave Klym's FABCAR built tube frame 944GTR turbo TRANS-AM race car- restored by Greg Brown. Sound accurate?

Hi Tim,

I think so. Alan Johnson had two of them, one was for SCCA and Trans Am and the other was a spare. I think Dave only built 5 or 6 cars total.

Very Cool car! :)

Hey, speaking of cool club cars....
I just rediscovered and rescued Dennis Powell's # 318 platinum 85 944 up in Escondido. Still had the parade decals on the back hatch so I recognized it immediately. It had been thru a couple young hands...Still had the Welt sways, adj Koni's and anti sub strap hidden under the drivers seat. I have video of this car at an '89 TT at the Q!
We also took apart the remains of Bogey's Gemini gray 944. I kept one of the "Bogusch" plates and flattened it back out to hang in the race shop.
Am I an old softy or what? :)

Tim...you are.

Bogie was one of the best members this region has ever had...he left this world way to early. :(
