Has anyone tested any of these iPhone GPS based Apps? They could be a pretty cool and useful for when you gocart, autocross, time trial etc and you don't have a data acquisition system installed.

Hey Martin,
I ve tried MaxQdata. The UI is really good and so are the features however the IPhone GPS receiver is not very accurate (1 HZ rcvr meaning it updates location only once per second) and therefore the App suffers from it.
The inaccuracy is not an issue with most Apps that use GPS on the IPhone however for apps that would be used at high speed the inaccuracy is amplified.
However if u buy the unit that MaxQdata sells, the GPS receiver is @ 10hz (10 updates per sec) and therefore much better accuracy is obtained.

That's too bad. But for free it's fun to play with. I also tried the other app, but the MaxQData seems better. Because it has the auto start and stop at ~20mph which makes it easier to use at an Autocross.
