The guy is driving a SWB '65 911. Driving a SWB car can be a hand full, ask Tom Tweed about it...check this guy out! Driving on the edge. And the sound of 2.0L at full song!

When I was wandering around Europe in '04,to attend all the F1 races, I was heading South to seek the warmth of Southern France I decided to do a little reconnaissance. I wanted to find the Spa circuit so when the F1 race was there I knew where to go. To my delight as I got closer I heard race cars. I stumbled upon an amateur club race with an assortment of marques running. No spectators, just car guys getting it on! Your video reminded me of a great Saturday morning.

Do 911's really require that much steering input? Scary, I'm feeling better about not owning one all the time.

Take a ride along with Paul Young and watch his steering. Very active hands to be sure.

I loved the vids. I am guessing in the second vid he is the 2nd red 911 that passes...flying by nicely pitched out?

Very nice video! That is definitely a "qualifying lap" driving style--certainly not the kind of tire management you'd need for a 6-hour endurance race! He goes through almost every corner sideways. The drift at the top of Eau Rouge is a heart-stopper--he's counter-steering clear across the 'gators in 5th gear--I thought he was going into the wall for a moment, and then it hooks up. I don't think I would have the guts to carry that kind of momentum through there. I'd be too worried about damage to the car, especially with the closing rate to the car in front of him (looks like a '60s Ford Falcon?!?)

Great Video and awesome driving. Obviously driving at least 10/Tenths. I love the passing on the far side of the gators. His car control is amazing and the way he steers, countersteers and uses the throttle is just beautiful to watch.

For those that don't know, the SWB 911(short wheel base) was built from '64 to '68. After that, they started with the LWB 911 in '69 to make it a little easer to drive at speed.

I have always felt that those who learned how to drive fast in a SWB car could at that point drive anything and were lucky.

I like when he passes the Cortina at 2:51.

The little exiting Eau Rouge is just harry...it makes me nervous just watching it.

I got some info on the 911 as well as the guy driving off the "Early 911S Register".

The car is probably the earliest 911 racing at this time, #300024.

The guy driving is Pascal Pandelar, he was awarded in the early 90's "Talent of the Year" by Rennsportschool Zandvoort.
