What an Amazing Day

What a terrific day!!! Of course, mine started 3 hours earlier than most of yours; but the view coming down the coast on Hwy 5 was priceless as the sun came up. You could see all of the way to Mexico. Further, I'm happily listening to David Bowie's greatest hits (of which there were a bunch and I hadn't listened to the CD in a while), and a guy pulls alongside in a Suburu Impreza, checks out the glossy lapiz blue in the early morning light, fires up a "yeah baby" thumbs up - nice car thing. (since I'm basically a new Porsche owner I'm not quite jaded to that yet. Basically have to agree; "YEP, I have ALWAYS wanted one"...(since before my first girlfriend)
Hey, was that not an amazing course laid out for us by the now "off duty" Dan.
In the backfield, how about the fine ladies running the time!!!
Special Cars of the Day:
1) The Viper that kept running down turns 8-9-10 accelerting with the brakes on. Kudo's for the fast time of the day.
2) The M5 BMW, without question, had the best "motor sound" IMO. Doubly Kudo's for posting a 1:06:21 with three people in the car.
3) The Lotus, because my bleeping friend should have shown up with his Espirit. BTW, nice time, 4th fastest of the day.
4) The Volvo Station Wagon - OK, this IS the car to get for your favorite Soccer Mom!! Did I see an under 1:10 post for this car?
5) Chuck's 2000 996, which posted the fastest 911 996 time of the day at 1:04 and change. (see my next post)
6) Number "20" driving an MSS Boxster S. I'm gunning for ya next year, as far as I know the fastest MSS time posted at 1:06 and change. What's your name?
7) Memories fading after a long day and drive back to LA, but the 70's 911 (license plate "lisa"), who posted a 1:02 and change in "old school" tradition.
Doug's 944-S, I have NEVER BEEN SIDEWAYS for such a long period of time, how about some Oversteer!! Next time I get sideways it's going to be in Greg Phillips' Shark as I have a yearning to feel/hear the ponies.
Awesome Day, Great Stories and Great People!!!
See you soon!
