Any plans for having another DE at the speedway this year?

Last years was a great event and a success for the club as I recall

Is this recommended for someone's first DE? It's my birthday on May 8th, so don't say no...

It's actually a lot better for 1st timers than the Roval course due to slower speeds and a little more distance from some of the scarier walls. Car control and spacial awareness are key for this and all HPDE events. Make sure that you get checked out by the DE chairs or CDI's prior to the event.

Folks interested in the DE's and TT's need to make sure they've gotten their 8 days of PCA AX or Driver's School completed before May (Mark, does the SDR PCA Performance Driving School count as 2 days or 3?).

Might as well also review the TIME TRIAL AND DE ENTRANT PERMIT PROCEDURES and VEHICLE & DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT sections of PCA's Zone 8 AX, DE, and TT Rules, to understand the differences in Driver, clothing, and Safety Equipment requirements, found here:

Russell. Good points. The PDS counts as 2 days. Please check the 2010 TT and DE rules. Know your class and the rules that apply to you and your car class. If you're not sure, ASK. We want you to come to the event, drive safely and have fun. Knowing the rules and requirements will go a long way to making sure that that happens.

You will also need to get your car pre-teched before the event. Nothing sucks worse than driving hours from home to find out that your car doesn't pass tech or having something break that could have been prevented by having the car checked out before hand. :banghead:

That being said, it's a lot of fun and you'll find helpful people througout the club who can make your transition to big tracks much easier. Thank you to all those who've come before me and helped me.
