2010 DE Schedule

Postby SDGT3 on Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:50 pm

Looks like the natives are restless about DE, so I thought I'd post the 2010 schedule (so far) to get the word out.

Saturday, May 8, 2010 -- Fontana DE
A great venue with a little of everything. We anticipate putting this on motorsports reg next month. Quick hint, this event sold out last year when it was run on a Monday. This year, we secured a "PERFECT" calender spot on a Saturday in early May (no heat issue). IT WILL SELL OUT QUICKLY, so reserve your spot as soon as you see it posted.

Summertime Qualcomm DE.
The date is not finalized yet because the stadium hasn't released their 2nd half schedule, but we anticipate a July date -- This will fill in the lull between the time trials, get some of you with testing and tuning some track time and the heat in Mission Valley isn't too bad in July.

Saturday, October 30/31, 2010 -- New Track/Chuckwalla/Palm Springs area

PCASDR and San Diego BMWCCA have teamed up to take this weekend at this new track. PCASDR will run the Saturday, Oct. 30th event under the PCA umbrella. San Diego BMWCCA will run the Sunday, October 31, 2010 event under their flag.

Please note we have penciled this event in and are cautiously optimistic that the track will host events no later than April or May as they have promised. We could have taken a date in late Spring, but we didn't feel it gave enough time for construction delays therefore the late October date.

For those PCA members that want to drive both days, there will be enough space on Sunday as BMWCCA is only inviting their Club Racers, Instructors and select advanced students to attend. We've already worked it out that PCA members tech will carry over from Saturday to Sunday and I'll work on both sides of the club fence to ensure everyone is properly vetted.

Unfortunately, for reasons too lengthy to get into on this forum, the Coronado DE will not be run in 2010.

To quote the character in the clasic Pepe Le Pew cartoon...

Le sigh....

I can't drive in either Fontana event this year because will be two autocrosses short for the Festival and one short for the DE. :banghead:

PDS counts as two events. This time you can take it in Tuffy.

And there are two AX's at El Toro organized by OCR (one this coming weekend, one in March) that would qualify you to run the Festival of Speed TT as a novice.

Like Mr. Rondeau says:

Might I suggest you treat yourself to another fun weekend at the PDS this March? Many drivers (myself included) have taken the PDS more than once. It's fun. You get track time. You can work on your skills sets. You can play with your friends all weekend (well, Sunday afternoon anyway  ). And ... you get credit for 2 days of driving event. That would qualify you for the DE's and TT's upcoming. :beerchug:

There's still room ... Tuffy would b sooooo happy!

Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement. :beerchug: Unfortunatly life seems to be conspiring against me lol. The El Toro AX's are on Sundays and though I would love to attend the PDS, with Kari out of work, it is out of reach financially. Ahhhhh well there will be others.
