Nice work, everyone. We all had a great day (except maybe Dan A.), really fun course, challenging competition, great times, and finished everything before 5:00PM. Nice.

In particular, a big thanks to Joel Bowman who volunteered all day, did multiple corner-working sessions so everyone could drive and get a little lunch break, and didn't even drive himself (well, except for a couple laps in my car to test a future Instructor, and one lap in his own car).

Also a big thanks to Jerry Bumpus, Mark Magnus the "Faster Pastor - Minister of the Need for Speed :burnout: " , his wife, and Don Auten. These 4 folks went down to the Stadium Friday afternoon to throw and rope the track so we could be on schedule on Saturday. Awesome!

It's really nice to see the spirit of volunteerism and the pride of a job well done executed in such a great event. You guys and gals all ROCK!

You must have liked it, Mark, that 1:19 you ran was an incredibly quick time for a GP car. You were driving the wheels off that thing, for sure. And what about Herb in his little 914-4 taking 2nd TTOD? That was a great drive, too. And Carl was very fast in his JP car to take 4th.

It had to be the worst day Dan A. has had in years. I'm sure we will hear how bad his tires were as soon as he overcomes his depression, uncurls from the fetal position, gets his tail out from between his legs and sits down at the computer again.... :D

THAT REMINDS ME--I mentioned this to Paul at the autox yesterday--I ran into a book while browsing on Amazon the other day named Faster Pastor, co-written by a second-tier NASCAR/ARCA driver named Adam Edwards. The synopsis reads like this:
"When a NY Times bestselling author and a NASCAR driver team up to write a novel, the result is a triumph of racing and faith. Camber Berkley, a young stock car driver, wrecks his car on a winding mountain road, landing in the midst of the funeral of an elderly NASCAR fan. As punishment for his spectacular car wreck, the local authorities of the small Tennessee town of Judas Grove give him a choice: serve months in jail for reckless driving, or spend two weeks teaching the local ministers to drive stock cars, so that they can compete in a race whose prize is the $2 million legacy left by that deceased NASCAR fan.
Will the best man win? Only God knows."

Apropos of nothing and OT, but it sounded interesting and reminded me of Mark M. at the time....

TT, Thanks! My fastest laps in practice had me down to a 1:19.32, but I couldn't match that in timed runs (of course!). If I could have just dropped another 3/10's I could have take the BRI. Oh well, something to work towards. The good news is, I still have 6 points to play with in GP. :D

BTW, Jackie missed the top ten in raw time by only 3/100's to a Lotus Elise. Three more N/A 944's in the top ten of BRI again. Watch out for us....

"When you win a race, your on top that day, so take it for what its worth, have a good time and party, cause the next day when you get out of bed, the meter goes back to zero again." (Bobby Allison)

Damn, back to zero again.... :roflmao:

Great fun as always! Thanks to everyone that went above and beyond. A very fun (slippery) and challenging track...one of the few that left me scratching my head as I knew there was at least one spot I was giving up time I just couldn't figure out how to get it back! The "open box" turn at the top of the track...loved that...can we maybe make a 360 version of that where you have to complete a 360 before you can exit  I was close once!

Mark R...I know...4 seconds... :surr:

Great track. Amazing how diverse the group of cars with the quickest times were. Every type of Porsche is represented within 3 seconds of TTOD! (well, OK, no 356s) :(

Thanks to everybody for another incredibly fun day of driving and team work. A really great track with all kinds of challenges--I never did figure out how to do the top at the Bud sign. My first time in the top 10! Woohooo! :D

Congrats to all those TTTOD (Top 10 Time of Day) first timer's. Terry, I saw it coming. You've made Carl Scragg check his mirrors as if Doug Kott were returning to the fray. Nice job. And ... you made TTTOD without spending $12K on your car. :banghead:

Any chance we'll see the results posted before the Motorhead Monday meeting? I'd like to print 'em out for review this evening.

Lets see, the book was just published, soooo. Looks like I better get my copywrite papers! . The first time I was called that was around 2002. I was running a BMX (bicycle motocross) team through our church getting kids off the streets and into something constructive. We had about 15 racing and they eventually convinced me to get a bike at join them. One night at Perris Raceway the announcer refered to me as "The Fastor Pastor". :D

Ah well as it says in Ecclesiastes 1:9
9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

not the worst day, but definitely frustrating when you can't keep the car straight.. :banghead: I was blindsided by the words Hoosier's and free... Steve and I both started with old Hoosiers, but I was trying to figure out how Steve got faster... :? Oh yeah, he switched to 710's... :surr:

Still had a great time and the track was pretty cool. Thanks to all the volunteers and congrats to all the winners!

Oh and Steve? If I had 710's to switch to we wouldn't be having this conversation..
