Carlsbad Raceway - Along for the Ride

Boy - that brought back memories!
My first exposure to Porsche racing was riding with Paul Haas at Carlsbad Raceway in his 914 in the early '70s. At the end of the straight was a great place to watch the 911's lift the inside front wheel several inches off the ground, and taking laps at speed with Paul was a real blast.
As a kid fresh out of college and without much in the way of "discretionary funds", I didn't even consider participating (although I drove an MGB roadster back then), but it was fun to watch and listen to the Porsches on the track.
