Wanted: two 7x16 Fuchs to buy or trade my 6jx16

Postby galis on Thu Jun 03, 2010 11:58 am

I'm looking for a pair of 7x16" Fuchs to replace the 6x16" wheels I have on my front end.

Would love to trade, willing to buy. I need 100% polished aluminum to match my rear wheels, ie no paint visible at all from outside. My 6" rims are in perfect condition, I'm looking to mount 225 Dunlop tires on the front which specify a 7" rim.

These are *all* the numbers from my existing rims. I don't know which are important but I put the most interesting ones in front. ;-)

6Jx16 36 911 3621 AS 1062 13 285 C0
7Jx16 23.3 1088 K 15 02 FCO 047 8C

There are numbers inside every spoke, if anyone can help me make sense of these I'd appreciate it. I'm also interested in any other forum/resource that will help with my replacement.

I already have 225 tires on the front (Yokohama S-Drive specify 6" are okay), and I've verified my rear wheels fit up front too.

Thanks,
-George

George
I have an even better deal for you.
I have a set of 86 944 Turbo wheels that are fully polished and have never been mounted since polishing.
They will bolt right onto your early 944.

BTW- 225's on 6in wheels is too big. They will squirm all over the place and steering response will painfully slow.

Send me an email for details.

Send me photo please, or link to similar wheels. Everyone likes my Fuchs....

The yoko s-drive 225 ARE within spec on a 6" wheel per Yokohama and tirerack:
http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/spec. ... re=S.Drive
yoko: 225/50R16 ... 6.0 - 8.0

and while verifying, I found something interesting,
Dunlop says the DZ Sport will mount on 6" wheel too:
http://www.dunloptires.com/catalog/dire ... rSpec.html
dunlop:225/50R16 ... 6.0 - 8.0
(follow links to download pdf)

Over at tirerack.com, they say the S-drive 225 mounts a 6" but the DZ Sport does not...

http://tinyurl.com/327ytsz tirerack S-Drive: 225/50R16 ... 6-8"
http://tinyurl.com/2c9gdr9 tirerack DZ Sport: 225/50R16 ... 7-9"

I had S-Drive 205 on the 6" front before, and while I'm sure the 225 is much better on a 7" wheel, the S-Drive 225 on 6" blows the doors off 205 on 6".

BTW I have no idea why the Dunlop DZ101 http://tinyurl.com/2ccuvyx is rated "Extreme Sport Performance" and $25 a corner less the "Ultra High Performance" DZ Sport which has all the great reviews... wait a second Ultra beats Extreme or is it the other way around?
