SDR TT @ Buttonwillow 9/18-19

I was going to try to make the OCR event in Fontana the week prior, but it looks like we've got out of town guests that weekend. So, I'll stick with SDR and try Buttonwillow, I think! Never been, so it is always fun trying a new track. It felt good getting the cobwebs off at the Q last weekend, but it will be nice running on some good pavement. :roflmao:

It looks like Motel 6 is "the place"-any other "local knowledge"? Who all is going?

Registration for this event is now open. Direct link is here. Event flyer is here. Hotel and other info are listed. Early registration discount runs through September 3. We're only about six weeks away from the event so those of you who haven't driven all summer should start prep'ing your car ASAP. We expect an awesome weekend with maximum track time running configuration 1CW. Detailed driver info letter will be sent to registered drivers about two weeks prior to the event. Hope to see everyone there.

Ed -
There's the Motel 6 "Central" that the club has reserved a block of rooms at (but you need to call), and then there's the other Motel 6 across the street (probably not as nice, maybe a tad cheaper), but neither is the 4-Seasons, if you catch my drift. Make sure you ask for a room NOT facing the highway, as it's right on I-5, and maybe bring some earplugs too, if you're a light sleeper. Also make sure you gas-up near the hotel before going to the track, as there is pretty much nothing near the track (although the track will be happy to charge you their rate for gas). In the evening, most of the guys go across the street to the BBQ restaurant for beers and dinner.

Looks like my handiwork is holding up, short of some underbody bangs due to the huge ashphalt chunks from the Q on Saturday. We'll be there! :burnout:

The Boxster brothers will be there for sure. I need some TT points  . We can try and catch Russell in his new stealth monsterporsche.

Hi Ed,

I'll be there with the motorhome on Friday around 4pm and doing Tech around 5:30 -6 pm. Your welcome to park by our group (two other cars) as we'll stay at the track until Sunday around 5pm.
BBQ's/dinner/cocktails/cigars ?? ;) each night going on and use of power/air/bathroom if needed. Also watching our cars and equip parked next to us.
Give me a call if you want to talk about it.
Rick

Hey Rick, thanks! I'm trailering Ruby up, and if I can make it out of town early enough-make Happy Hour. I'll definitely pack some good cigars. I'll talk to you prior.

I've got a ludicrous work travel schedule for Sept, but this sounds like it will be a blast, and I can't wait to try Buttonwillow!

Less than 36 hours to register before the price goes up! :burnout:

Rumor has it that the 944's will be going FLAT OUT! I hope there's a good tail wind down the back of lost hill.

Niraj,

I'm sure that you'll get a great instructor. It's the first track I ran and it's a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing you out there.
Now, where's Hassan?

WE are in (and when I say "WE" I mean Monica is driving, too! ). Should be a great event. :beerchug: I've already gotten threats and promises and excuses from a certain II 911SC in Red/Yellow/Black. And I've ben told I'll have lots of company in every corner from a certain blue 944S. Should be lots of fun, plenty of "bench-racin,' smack-talkin,' Yo-Mama claimin's" in the pits and some clean, safe, fun driving on the track. Now, where'd I put those "excuse" notes?

Online registration for the Buttonwillow DE & TT closes tonight (Monday, September 13) at midnight. You can still show up at the track and pay, though it'll cost you an additional on-site registration fee. So if you'd like to drive this coming weekend sign up today at pcasdr.motorsportreg.com.
