Windshield Buffing...thoughts?

Postby Mmagus on Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:39 am

Dan C mentioned in another thread that his windsheild looked like it was "peppered with birdshot". Mine is in a similar state, very fine chips in the thousands. I was wading through some email ads and one from Harbor Freight included a windshield resurfacing kit, some sort of buffing device that you put on a drill or angle grinder motor. Anyone have experience with this?

If you have real "chips" or indentations in the glass you'll need to live with it or get a new windshield :banghead: . Unfortunatley they can not be "buffed out". However, there are some good Glass Polishes and glaises on the market  . Try : griots.com : meguiars.com : autogeek.net

You'll be surprised how much better your glass looks after it's been cleaned and polished. One last word of encouragement... If what you have are just "scratches", and they're not too deep, they are repairable (and should pretty much dissapear) with the above products too :roflmao: .

Let me know how it turns out.
