Actually, I think it is more redundant. If it is moving, it is going flat out. The gas pedal should be an on/off switch and the off setting is optional

Juuuust in case. Here are a couple I enjoyed:
"Thanks for allowing me to visit in your Private Padock Room"
"You asked to speak to the Track Chair"
"you should get it repainted so it is shiny like all of the othere cars here."
"Can we have at least one run session with a speed limit?"
"No. Those of us who can afford Fast, Shiny Cars, would not be able to drive them flat out!" Buying such expensive cars is a waste of time unless we drive
them flat out!
