Atta Boy, Keith. That was some seriously good driving, dude! Hassan, you're on fire, man. Great driving by both of you.
Here's the TTOD breakdown:

Top 10 Times: 2010-08-22 @Qualcomm - West Lot

Class Car Number Name Car Year Car Model Best Time 1st Time 2nd Time 3rd Time BRI Position Points
IM 95 Kinninger, Mark 1981 911 1:08.02 1:11.29 1:08.02 1:08.88 5 20
RS 452 Avitt, Mike 2004 GT3 1:09.82 1:09.82 1:10.15 DNR 10 20
II 91 Chambers, Dan 1983 911SC 1:11.61 1:13.42 1:12.10 1:11.61 9 20
LS 786 Zaidi, Hassan 1999 Boxster 1:11.72 1:12.71 1:11.72 1:14.89 4 20
X 779 Griffiths, Monte 2006 Elise 1:11.83 1:11.83 1:12.36 1:12.23 78 20
RSL 425 Avitt, Angela 2004 GT3 1:11.91 1:11.91 1:13.30 1:15.63 31 20
KS 911 Verlaque, Keith 1993 911 RS America 1:12.14 1:12.14 1:13.66 1:14.76 1 20
OS 44 Bowman, Joel 1995 911 1:12.58 1:12.58 1:14.60 1:13.14 14 20
MP 53 Shon, Russell 2001 Boxster S 1:12.76 1:13.29 1:13.16 1:12.76 28 20
944Spec 153 Rayner, Leigh 1987 924 S 1:12.93 1:12.93 1:13.37 1:16.03 2 20

My eyes went to the #10 TTOD: Leigh Rayner in a ... 924. A 924 in the 10 TTOD! That is impressive.

The variation in TTOD cars is impressive, too. From a highly modified, lightened, Super-Powered Hotrod 911 to a 924S, and everything in between. Well, OK, there's no Cayenne Turbo in there .... Seriously: the spread of car types and model years says heaps about the track design. Nice work, Mr. Auten.

Congrat's to all who drove their pants off! (Good thing there's no in-car video footage! )

Wow, that 944 video must have inspired some drivers. 5 944's in the top 10 BRI and three of them had red (mostly shiny) paint. They must have all been driving "Flat Out".

Great track and great fun. Thanks to all who helped and to our AX team for another great track.

Definitely a drivers course that rewarded skill. We expect GT3s and smurf cars with big motors in the top ten. We don't often see a 924S and a 2.5 Boxster in there. Bravo!

To take nothng away at all fom Leigh's gret time and driving, yes he is in a 924S...he is, however, in the 944SPEC class, Still fantastic time!

I am biased I FULLY admit, but to me the REAL story of the day is Andy Mail's #3 BRI finish. In a GSS class car, I looked back through the standings and the last time a GSS car was even in the top 10 was 10-09-04 when Tom Tweed did it. SIX YEARS AGO!!! Even with that there is a difference that makes it so outstanding. When Tom got his #1 BRI the index adjustment for GSS was .9900 now its 1.0020.

AMAZING time Andy!!!

Unfortunatly he just chewed on my argument that the BRI needs adjustment bac to .9900 for our class :banghead: :roflmao:

It was the tailwind. The best part of the day was being surrounded by friends and competitors, everyone excited, waiting for the countdown for the BRI. Is it too late to call in that cone on Keith? Congratulations

Tom did that time in a 1967 911S. Andy posted an awesome time for that car and shows how the current AX team (isn't Andy on the AX team?? )is creating very good tracks that help level the playing field. The key to the tracks we've had this year has been smooth driving, looking way down the track and keeping the car right on the edge without going over it. Great job Andy.

Also, congratulations to Keith V for his BRI win in a VERY WELL SET UP CAR.

It's the paint, The dull paint acts like the diviots on a golf ball allowing the car to slip through the air FLAT OUT

Mark(s)

Thanks for the kudos - I was very happy (read: astonished) with the result! Jerry has put together a real track weapon, and I'm lucky to drive it. Mr. Bray, I'm sorry you weren't there to participate in the fun - it was a great track.

Leigh and Kieth, well done. I'd have had my hands full shaving off 0.3s to catch Leigh, but Kieth was untouchable - I'd have needed to shave another 1.12s.

And for all you that think "kind of orange, almost red, but faded" is the only proper color for a 9--fourtyfour, faded blue works too!

For the first time in a while, I was able to just come out and hang around with my SDR friends and suffer jests and sorted indignities for a few hours. (Dan Chambers has got two coming, Keith V. has only one... and Katina and Mark get thank-yous instead).

Two comments from me -- "Wow!"and "Congratulations!"

Very much enjoyed watching great driving, organization and camaraderie. I asked Mark if Katina comes home at night with no voice left at all....

Left my motor in a turn at Buttonwillow so she is being rebuilt - but will be back down soon, likely for the school.

Come on, Michael. You know if you come to San Diego, you gotta bring your game. Seriously, it was great catching up with you. I hope to see you October 8th, 9th, and 10th at the PDS. Your help, and great barbs, are always gerat to have around.

Outstanding drive Leigh! A top ten finish in a 924S is pretty rare air when you run with this pack of wild dogs. Hope to see you at BW next month.

Some outstanding driving Sunday. I just wish I could have put up some official numbers before my accelerator pedal sheared off. :banghead:
I ran a 1:15.66 with my student on the lap right before it broke and I felt like there was still a lot of time left out there.
Congrats, Keith! You have gotten wicked (or is that wicket?) fast in the last couple of years!

That was a great track! Congrats also to Don Auten for another fast AND safe track! :beerchug:

Many thanks for your generous comments guys - you are too kind.

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to the following outstanding SDR drivers whose actions this last weekend were of significant help to me:

Jae Lee, Steve Grosekemper, Jad Duncan, Erik Kinninger, Martin Reinhardt, Jennifer Reinhardt, Ralph Linares, Dave Gardner, Curt Yaws, Carl Scragg, Terry Barnum, Roland Schmidt, Dan Andrews, Herb Meeder, Tawfik Alphabet, Jess Osterberg, Bill Ibbetson, Tammy Ibbetson, Paul Young and Jim Binford.

Without all of you guys (and girls) help - I would have been in my normal 20th place.
