Ryan at RSR Motorsports has graciously agreed to pre-Tech Tuffy for Buttonwillow. Unfortunatly I found that his fine establisment is not on the aproved list! What to do? Well I am taking it to him anyway and will deal with the possible random inspection, but for goodness sakes we need his shop on the list! How do we start a petition!? :beerchug:

I second that! Considering he's putting the whole car back together, I hope he can be the pre-tech station too!

I most definitively agree with that proposal. Ryan's shop should be an approved pre-tech station.

You are barking up the wrong tree...
Ryan and I talked about this in May at Buttion Willow and I told Ryan to call me when he is ready to set this up.

All he has to do is call me to get the ball rolling.
But he is probably got 23 things on his to do list and hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Ryan, give me a call...email...smoke signal...

Ahhhh Thank you Steve for clearing it up :D I want everyone to know that Ryan had NO idea I started this thread. I just thought I would "go to bat for him". 8) When I talked to him he was indeed burried in 4 cars and working 19hr days. Perhaps this will be a small fire to get things going...for his smoke signal. :roflmao:

The random re-inspection program is just that...random. Not every car teching at a non-approved shop will be re-inspected, due to manpower limitations (though if DQ shows up at a TT and is up for helping, perhaps we can change that). In addition, the re-inspection can occur when you're not even at your car. So those teching at shops not on the approval list may have indeed been re-inspected and passed without even realizing it. Unfortunately, we've also found cars that are out of compliance this way, and those people have had to either fix the issue or cease to run. As the driver event letters always say, know the rules yourself and be sure that you are 100% positive that your car meets them before you head to the track, regardless of what your inspection shop says. Safety is our first priority and we strive to get everyone and their car home in good shape.

Dave your welcome in our mobile motel in Pharump.

At previous venues we still give the car a once over to re-check for teched items.
Sometimes this is done quickly as the lines can get long Saturday morning with just 2-3 guys teching.
Just make sure all your items are at hand i.e.. helmet date/class is good to go, PCA member verification,
fire ext. charged and mounted properly if needed, belts date/ mounted properly, all loose items out of car. These are just a few of the items that seem to fail or people forget to bring to tech recently. Very good idea to go over the rules and make sure, because I sure don't want to stop someone from driving after that long haul.
