Not getting in enough performance driving? Hard to believe in this club right? :D Two PCA driving events are scheduled this fall that may be of interest:

** The first is our semi-annual PCA-GPX Day Away from work DE/AX at Streets of Willow Monday Oct. 4th. This is an entry level event complete with novice clinic and instruction designed to bridge the transition between a parking lot AX and a race track. Experienced drivers are of course always welcome and encouraged to come out and play. Paid corner workers. The price is very reasonable and you will get lots of seat time.

** The second is a PCA-GPX/SGV 2 day event at the historic Pomona Fairplex race track where Phil Hill and Caroll Shelby used to race in the early 60s. November 20-21st. Saturday will be traditional single lap AX with timing on a long sweet 2+ minute course. Sunday will be a DE on the fast full track including the historic tunnel. The track was re-surfaced last year and it is as smooth as a baby's behind. Both days are open to novice or experienced drivers alike with mandatory novice clinic and instruction for new drivers. Includes paid corner workers. Sign up for either one or both days at very attractive rates.

Did I mention the track surface was smooth?

Went to the GPX site and downloaded the flyer. Got a PDF message that a "drawing error occurred" but I was still able to read it by scrolling down and up again. The file was 15.8MB for a single page flyer, though--not optimal for web-based access. Someone should have downsampled the images when producing the PDF, I think.

Sounds like a fun event, though. I might try to go up for the Sunday part.
Thx,
TT

Thanks Tom,
I noticed it loaded slowly but did not see how HUGE the file was. I passed your suggestions on to the webmaster. Hope to see you there!

Just an update,
I recently found out that the Fairplex AX/DE is concurrent with the LA auto show. PCNA is coming to Pomona Fairplex and bringing a handful of shiny 2011 Porsches complete with instructors for test drives both days. If you ever wanted to take a few fast laps on the track in a Porsche Spyder or new Carrera GTS, come out and play. PCA president Kurt Gibson is also registered. :burnout:

This event is open to both novice and experienced drivers alike. Sign up today!
