Saw this listing and had never seen the model. A search didn't bring anything up, so I figured I would ask. Is there such a thing?

Looks like someone combined a 944 with Carrera RS stickers to create a really fast 944. That car will probably do 97 mph downhill with a tailwind if driven "flat out"

I thought the racy version of the 944 was called a "Clubsport" and not an "RS." I think he's "mixing metaphors" with the 911 Rennsport series designation.

The "local [PCA] Chairman"? Of what? Chairman of the Board? Would this be the "permanent" Chairman? Maybe the Membership Chair from 1985? Inquiring minds want to know...
By the way, I checked this on Snopes and they verified this is true!

I think there was a 944 as well as a 968 Clubsport version, but I'm no waterpumper kind of guy, as you know. Wikicars says: "The 944 S2 brought an enticing option to the price lists, in the shape of the 'ClubSport', built to emulate the successful 'Turbo Cup' 944 Turbo-based racing series. The option deleted all sound-deadening, removed all electric components and included the addition of race-style bucket seats. Very few of these cars were built."

Looks clean for sure. But I think this car has the very rare option code "stkrwpwdrct" only available on base model 1984 944's. If you don't want to use the option decoder, that is the "stickers with powder coated ebay parts" option. No RS version from factory, they did turbo cup and club sport and the "S" series stuff. Suspect "RS" designation was reserved for 911 series cars. In the end though 2500 for a clean early 944 is not too bad.
