Tom,
Thanks for all your hard work.

All three proposals passed at the presidents' meeting on Saturday, with only minor tweeks. See the URL above.
However, the new 'GGR' style classification is not going into effect until 2012, as the committee was not willing to do a cold turkey transition, and neither were some of the presidents.
So, for Zone 8 purposes, for 2011 we will run under the 2010 style rules, with the 2012 rules there for "information only," to get people used to thinking about them and what it means for the events. At least that is the hope. My fear is most people will ignore them and the switch in 2012 will end up being a harsh transistion anyway, thereby wasting the purpose for waiting.
But my suggestion is that even if we can't do it for the Zone series in 2011, there is nothing to stop the SDR regional series from using the new classification system. The region seemed so excited about it, I say "why wait?" It is doable, if that software guy gets around to updating the timing & registration system for the new year. Could be done for both the AX & TT events. May make a little more work for the reg team. And the timing team would have to run all the reports/exports twice. But again, i say, why wait?
But that is only my suggestion. It will really be up to the AX & TT Teams to decide what they want to do. Perhaps the regular participants could tell event management what they want to see next year, hint, hint.

I am all for it. I think using the new system for 2011 will help bring some excitement to the autocross and TT series.
I would guess we will be discussing this at the December meeting and hope to have a decision before the 2011 season starts.
