Chuck even used something looking like real tires..well almost .. :roflmao: It was great to watch and came down to last couple laps. You should see the trophy...Congratulations gentlemen, it was a pleasure to watch. :beerchug:

Hmm... How about a pet name that reflects Chuck's tendency to drive right down to the steel belts?

"Sparky!" :burnout:

Well done gentlemen!!! Smooth and consistant is the way to win a race. Anyone else who doesn't get their fill at Fest of Speed needs to get into the POC. San Diego is well represented...Awesome Dawson came thru and won Sunday's race. We need to band together and put wood to those L.A. pukes :)
Good job Dead Pets Racing  next time in the pits I've gotta ask you about that name...

Consistent - yes.

Smooth ... well, no. Snickers would not start on the grid due to corroded fuel pump relay contacts. After Henry Hinck wiggled the relay, I roared out and caught
the pack just before the green dropped, starting DFL instead of 10th! The car was understeering due to 32+ heat cycles on the front tires. I had the left side in
the dirt several times exiting onto the main straight (scraping the center of poor Snickers on the berm!).
And then trying to pass that pesky 996 and 993 by braking late in the corners while trying to keep out of their doors...

Chuck took over, driving into the gathering darkness, and putting down some smooth, solid, consistent laps. He netted us the 13 second victory over the BaDD CoPP.

Speaking of whom, Jim - you were like a smooth rocket, clicking off a steady stream of stellar laps. It was awesome to watch you!

Overall it was a real blast, and a memorable team victory.

Congrats to both of you. Wow, 13 seconds is cutting it close. How long was the enduro?

Chuck thinks that 32 heat cycle tires are just broken in :roflmao: Can't imagine what he would do with fresh rubber . :beerchug:

The enduro was 65 minutes with penalty minutes for different classes. For example:Jim (bad)Copp had like 7 minutes and 40 seconds in his class. The pit window opened after 25 minutes for 10 minutes to change driver/cars.Jim had a 10 second penalty for coming in a little late during the pit window. So without the penalty it would have been REALLY close for our SDR boys. Got pretty dark at the end but all they all drove GREAT! :beerchug: Still can't believe how exhausted Chuck was but we got him some fermented liquids later that evening and he was fine :)
As Jim said: come on out and run with POC too once in a while. It's a lot of fun. I run with both clubs as much as I can and enjoy every minute.Good people everywhere...

Just for the record - I had NO steel belts showing for this race! :surr: ... But I did save the good tires for Debby's Time Trial run on Sunday. :burnout:
They didn't have as many heat cycles as Paul's tires, but they probably weren't a long ways behind. :roflmao:

And don't let Paul sand bag. He drove GREAT! He made up for the DFL start and handed over to me with us well up in the standings.

I had my issues as well. It got so dark that I had to look real close to make sure that what turned out to be the White flag was not the checkered. Then I proceeded to lose sight of the track two turns from the end and had a minor agricultural excursion. If Jim Copp had not had his "extra" penalty, it would have been near a photo finish.

Thanks Gunter for the "refreshments". They made everything better! :beerchug:

I will get a picture up as soon as I figure out how to do it. :banghead:
