CFOS and Infield DE in-car videos

Postby Erik K on Sat Nov 20, 2010 10:12 am

Yes, you could say i'm a little late posting this videos haha. First one is me racing the Black Forest 944 spec car at 2010 CFOS. Its amazing what kind of cars you can pass at the start of a race when driving "FLAT OUT" !! HAHA. The RED 944 is from out of town and definitely had a few hp on me. but i got him in the end, My strategy was to let him lead heading to the white flag, hence why i let him pass me on the infield straight.

Second Video is me driving a twin turbo 911 racecar, shacking it down for a black forest customer. Not a bad feeling of getting rocketed down the straights with 500 + hp.

Erik,

Thanks for posting these!

Great Driving

We can all learn just by watching this and seeing how you position the car and "play" your victim. :D

Thanks for the lesson!

Thanks Chuck! That was one of the funnest races I've been in. My competition definitely had some power on me and I had to drive the hole race as close to 10/10s as I could. During that race while drafting back an forth I was able to bust out a 2:01.9!! thats about two seconds faster than me qualifying by myself. And my tops speed when from about 122mph by myself to 130 mph and almost on the rev limiter in 5th gear.

Fantastic driving Erik! Very close racing and you stayed as cool as a cucumber throughout the whole race. You could tell that the red car driver let emotion creep in, got a little desperate, lost focus, and drove off into the dirt even though his car was faster. He just couldn't match wits with you when it counted. Bravo!

I seriously doubt that red car was Spec 1 legal. It made a TON of horsepower. He pulled me like I was dragging a boat anchor.

That makes your victory even sweeter.

The drafting REALLY helped. I wondered how you two pulled away from me so easy. I just assumed that it was my tired motor (that I replaced a couple of months later). Getting another 7-8 mph from drafting did the trick. I guess I should have tried to stay in the draft with both of you.

Now, as I remember, we both did a little drafting during qualifying to get you on the pole ahead of him. It also boosted me up some as well.

As usual, GREAT DRIVING!
