front seat reupholstery

Postby RickK on Sat Dec 04, 2010 1:49 pm

I am thinking about recovering my 911SC front seats. Looks like I can get front seat kits from World Upholstery or Autos International. Anyone ever done this? Is it a fairly straightforward DIY, looks like it would be? I know I also need to replace the foam when I strip off the old seat coverings, mine is completely broken down, I assume that will peel off and the new ones glue on. Neither site has any instructions for how to do it.

I have replaced the seat covers on other makes. Two of the things that make the job go easier is a heat gun (or your wife's hair dryer) and a pair of hog ring pliers. The job is pretty straight forward bur you do need to remove the seats from the vehicle and sperate the back from the bottom. There are two bolts at the bottom of the back.
