Does anyone know or have experience with a local helmet painter? I need my new helmet to be painted. It's a fairly simple design, but I need a quality job with multiple clear coats over base coat and decals to prevent rock chips.
Thanks,

Hi Martin,
A neighbor of mine has quite a bit of experience. I will get his contact information for you.
Best,
Matt

Martin,
Josh Yeager has painted quite a few helmets. He is the son of Tim and Patti Souza and has driven with PCA until going into the Marines. I believe he is still stationed in So Cal. I can find his contact information if you are interested. Call or email me for details.

Thanks Matt and Chuck for the replies.
Please PM me the contact informations as I still have not picked a painter, but I will make a choice in the next week or two.
Note: I am looking for a local professional or semi pro helmet painter. I will be providing all the graphics and design which will need to go onto the helmet.

Ah, just paint it like Jo Siffert's helmet. Now that's simple.
There was a guy in Allied Gardens named David Yost (sp?) who did world class helmet painting. No joking. He wasn't doing helmets anymore last I heard......I need a new helmet painted too. Maybe if we bug him with multiple orders?

Tim,
I have a couple of guys I am going to contact next week, but that's an idea too as I actually have two new helmets that need to be painted.

Martin,
Matt Sparks called me earlier today. We were talking about the same guy so maybe we'll hit him up again with 3 orders!

Dave Yost did both of my helmets. I was very happy with his work.

Martin, that's the guy (Yost) that I was referring to. I left a note at his house to give me a call and will forward on his contact info once I hear back.
Best,
Matt

Hi Martin,
I was finally able to meet with Dave Yost on Monday night. Unfortunately, he sold his equipment and does not paint anymore. He did recommend Smart Race Paint in Canada. He said that is who he would go with (Sorry, I know that you were looking for someone local).
Best,
Matt

I sent mine to Censport Graphics a few years ago. Was very happy with his work, and will probably send my next helmet to him. I do understand that his backlog is pretty long now though.
