PCA SDR

I have a street stock '03 996 that is in PSS class in our old car classing system. The new system would have my car in either TT10 or TT11 depending on which set of wheels/tires I use on the car. Is there a Street Stock class in the new system? or only the TT classes?

On Page 14 of the 2012 rules PDF you will find that a 996 GT2/GT3 will be in class SS10 as some cars do indeed have Street Stock classes. unless I am reading it incorrectly.

Nice catch CajunD! I saw the 996 GT2 and landed there. But nice for him in SS either way .

Mark Rondeau, thanks for the help in pointing me in the right direction for classing my car.

Looks like I am a few points into CC9. I could put some Hoosier R6's or Kumho V710's on my car instead of street tires and still stay in the same class. Very interesting.

Call me confused but do we still need letters and numbers on our cars? Or do we use old system such as 951 kss. Also it looks like there is no ss class for my 89 951.So I go to cc class?

Yes, just like last year.

We are asking folks to point out their car in the new class and indicate it on your Reg so we can compare the two systems, but there is no requirement to do so. If I recall correctly I put mine in the "Notes to regestration" box. If indeed there is no SS class for your white turbo beauty then yes...CC Class would be what you use.

Yes, the SS classes only go back to the early 90's, 968 & 964.
The logic being that cars over 20 years may not stay completely stock through that time.
So you get to go to the CC classes, welcome to the pool.

There is no rule requiring classes on your cars. Only your driver's number.

Here is wording regarding numbers from both the 2011 and 2012 AX, DE, & TT rules.

"All entrants must have numbers (readable by corner workers) on both sides of the car before entering the track. (8" height minimum, 1" width minimum for Time Trials and DE; 6" height minimum, 1" width for Autocross). Numbers are suggested on the front prior to timed runs. Contrasting background is required for all numbers."

Nothing about class letters. We can all save some money and not buy the new lettering and be able to afford paying for timed runs at the TT.
