Since the new season and classes are starting soon, and everyone needs to figure them out real soon. Lets see what classes and who we are competing against this year....

We are cc6, at the top of the class for about the first time ever!

944S - CC11(470 PTS)
BOXSTER S - CC10 (535 PTS)

C4S w/RA1's = 690 = CC7 - I'm really looking forward to having other cars to compete against in my class, no matter where I place. Anyone else gonna be in CC7?

Unless something happened last night at the board meeting that I dont know of (I wasn't there), its my understanding that we are using the "old" system for this season and the competition will be based on that, rather than the new CC system. Orrrr am I off? (either is good for me...just want to keep peoples expectations going the right direction

With that said I believe Tom B is working a way to have the CC class times posted at AX events as a "This is where you would have landed" comparison. To help that happen you DO need to class out your car and includ it in reg.

I am CC15.

2000 Boxster = 345 points = CC14

I believe we are using both for TT, one for zone and one for SDR season trophies.

Mark, and everybody, there is no rule requiring classes on your cars. Only your driver's number.

CC16 until I switch to those 225's the real racers use!

That will teach me not ro read the rules carefully enough! Well...my class ID makes Tuffy look racier...and as we all know racier cars go faster...so....errr....ummm... I'm running BOTH class set ID's! I'll be REALLY fast then !

SS7 (there probably will not be enough SS7 cars to play with so I will run the CC class)

CC9 (560 points, 440 base points, plus 100 points for tire width and 20 points for treadwear 180 tires) using my wider 18" wheels (probably the class I will use all of 2011). BTW, I can stay in this class even if I put on some Kumho V710's or Hoosier R6's and not have too many points to kick my into CC8.

CC10 in the future if I get treadwear 200 tires (next year maybe)

CC11 if I use my stock 17" wheels (these are really only for the street and not AX or track events, so I will probably never run this class)

This is great, I can set up the car to run in 4 classes by just changing tires. I'll have to see where the competition is and be ready for next year when it comes time to buy new tires.

Since I've been asked a few times today, here's how to figure your points to determine your class:
Base class - Find your car by year and model. These are your base points.
Tire size points - 1 point per mm over 205. This is for front and rear. If you have 225 fronts and 255 rear tires, you have 70 points. [(225 -205=20)+ (255-205=50)=70 points].
Tire treadwear points and all other modification points

Example:

1988 944S -
Base Points - 250
Tire Points - 80 (245 front/rear)
Mod Points - 140 (treadwear 100 - 40 points, sway bars 20 points, camber plates 20 points, springs/torsioin bars 20 points, weight savings 40 points)
Total points - 470

2006 Boxster S
Base Points - 415
Tire Points - 100 (235 front/ 275 rear)
Mod Points - 20 (treadwear 20 points)
Total points - 535

CC14-310 points

CC9 (570)...however, I do have something up my sleeve that should make things a bit more interesting and would put me at 590 points...not sure at this point which way I'll run as the 590 version puts me in OP instead of OS.

Mr. Confused again where do you find your base points? EG; 1989 951.
