Hi there all,

After a great amount of consideration, deliberation, and discussion with long term members we are opening walk-up registration to Non-Student, PCA Members. Part of the reason for the previous decision, and this one is that we have 25+ brand new students, and were struggling to find instructors to cover them. Jackie has worked diligently shaking the instructor tree and we now have everyone paired, but no room for additional students.

Please know that the previous announcement was not made hastily or without consideration. There was never a desire to keep anyone out of the days fun. Heck…do you think that I really wanted my first act as AX Co-Chair to be saying “Hi, I’m Mark…be mad at me!” ?

We also ask that you continue to be as helpful and understanding as you have been. We will make every effort to finish the day on time, but may have to adjust laps…or in worst case go to a non-points day. But whatever happens we will do it as Tim C. stated, “as a family.”

Thanks again for all your suggestions, and offers to help, we GRETLY appreciate them.

Your AX Team

Would it help if I came down and instructed until ~10 am. I could take a student in 2-3 run groups.

Let me know.

Thanks Jad!

Jackie C. has all the specific details regarding where things stand with instructors, please drop her a note.

so to ask another question:

is there a line being drawn between PCA members who do not drive a porsche at the events and those who do or no?

Or put another way, is X class getting wacked at events if the attendance numbers get too big or at a certain number "cutoff"?
Does pre-registering prevent any such planned cutoff if you will be in X in a non porsche?

it would be nice to know if we will (could) become the sacrificial lambs for well attended AutoX events and we need to start planning to hike our butts up to OCR events to be assured we will run and not turned away based on "too many cars here today, sorry all non pcars are out" ya know? Not that I am saying that would be unreasonable, but a guy hasta plan the track calendar.

I assume this would never happen at a DE/TT event because the 2 event chairs for those events both drive *cough-cough* Lotus cup cars at them.

Great question. Currently there is much that falls into the "at the aproval of the Chair". I am working on a proposal that would try to solidify this without getting too "rule bound" so folks know where they satnd and can plan accordingly. It will, of course have to go before the board for aproval.

thanks for the effort Mark. As background, I had to run with OCR to autocross the lotus in the 2009 season because SDR did not allow non pcars. In 2010 that changed because the attendance dropped way down and non pcars became welcome. If 2011 is going back to No Pcars it needs to be determined prior to the season start vs making it an "event based" decision to be fair I think. Planning to attend an event, preregistering to attend and then getting turned away at the gate will seriously suck.

I fully understand the reasoning "A Porsche should never be turned away so a Non Pcar can run" and dont have a problem with it at all. But it would be really nice if it could get sorted out now vs later.

Thanks Again

**Please speak into the Microphone**Jerry. haha.

Seriously I really appreciate getting to put the lotus beat down on your guys **Ahem** I mean run with you guys in AutoX. PCASDR puts on such good driving events it would really suck to not be able to join in.

But I wont be there tomorrow cause wifey made plans :banghead: , but I will be at all the others. Have fun tomorrow!
