Kari and I ride our Triumph motorcycle with a group called the "Moto Euro Breakfast Club". It meets every Saturday. What they have is a circut of restaurants throughout the county on rotation. This gives not only a nice change of venue but swaps the drive distance.

Perhaps we could do something similar going as far north as Escondido and South to...? Chula Vista?

Sean, I believe there is a Cars 'N Coffe thing in Kearny Mesa on weekends. I've seen it posted in the Union. Can't remember where or when. Maybe someone else has more info...

There is a "Cars and Coffee" type of meet in Carlsbad the last Saturday of the month, I think.
I haven't been there, but it is supposed to be great.

errrrrrrrrrrr not so great IMO

typical turnout = 8 - 10 Vettes, a few Stangs, a few Pcars, some interesting misc, saw a 65 Dodge Max Wedge clone last time i was there.
a guy with a cheery red Gallardo shows up, and one week Bill drove his Enzo followed by his wife driving the F40. I don't often see a lady driving an F40!
If you want to go to a C&C on a Saturday morning, Irvine is very tough to beat.

2 weeks ago Dan Gurney was @ Irvine C&C and Fernando Alonso is rumored to have made a recent appearance if you care about celebrities................... :roflmao:

They did have a few of them in front of the SD Auto Museum. I went to one a few years ago and it was a good turn out. The only thing... almost no P-cars. We could change that. With a little participation from this board alone we could have 30 cars with the snap of a finger.

Mark, my buddy has been nagging me to attend a Moto Euro breakfast for years (I ride an Aprilia). If you and Kari are going to be there maybe I'll have to get off the starting line.

They are really a great group of people! Additionally they can show up on some of the most unusual and rare of bikes at times. A few months back one of our members passed away and we attended the funeral, about 100 bikes, including 3 Vincent Black shadows (one with origional hard bags), an Ariel square 4, stock kit BMW WWII bikes, and many others. Though a sad event it was an impressive rolling display of bike history. One of our members set 3 or 4 records at Bonnivile last year as well on his Moto Guzzi.

Drop me your email and I will forward you the location of the weeks meeting. I will be at Willow this weekend and unable to attend.

Mark

The Auto Museum one got shut down by the city, they wanted the guys showing up to pay for having the cops there. :banghead:

You know... got to pay that overtime and pensions. OK that's all I'll say.

I think the thing is a great idea. The Hot Roders get together at "Home Town" for breakfast on the second Sat. of the month in El Cajon...big turn out!

During the summer, the third Thursday of each month is Hot Rod night in downtown Encinitas along old hwy 101.
The turnout is usually 100-200 cars, and some very high dollar rods are on display. You get pretty jaded after a while.

Q) "What's going on over there?"
A ) "Ah, just an Italian supermodel posing half naked on the hood of a another of those $380,000 Boyd Coddington rods. Not worth walking across the street for, we'll see it on the way back"

We attended as a club last year and received a nice welcome from both our sponsor (Charlie's Foriegn Car) and the public.

The one in Irvine started in Newport Coast but was shut down because of neighbors complaining about noise, they were lucky enough to have , first Ford and now Taco Bell welcome them to their lot. The Irvine P.D. has an officer there at the entrance to stop "enthusiastic" driving (the Gallardo that looped it in the street stopped that) so check the neighborhood 1st. Quick freeway access is a plus.
