My dad only stopped ax'ing a year ago...........which proves that ax'ing is the key to longevity!

Don't stop ax'ing!
Jan 20th was his 80th birthday. "Well done", I'd say. (Keith would say the same being a Brit- -- tho former).
Many of you know that my dad, Tom, was a local AX fixture for 15 years. He was the first to get there and the last to leave. Always a servant to the club and the people he enjoyed spending time with.
What you might not know is that he used to drive down from Topanga Canyon, starting in 1995, when I was AX chair, to come drive with us. That's a 2.5 hour drive! Talk about commitment...
It's all about fun with friends isn't it?!.......or is it fun with Family? The lines get kinda blurred, don't they.....

Our AX's are just not the same since Tom decided to hang up his helmet. He's a great guy and a tough competitor. And if you did manage to beat him somehow, he was always the first to congratulate you.

Tom, why don't you borrow a spec car from that son of yours and come out and show the youngsters how to drive. Your presence is missed. Happy Birthday, Carl

Happy Birthday. I miss seeing you at the Q. I also miss our traditional Greeting in the AM.

I'd say "Good morning you grumpy old fart" and you'd reply with "#$*^% whipper snapper", or something like that.

I hope you keep doing well for many more years.

Tom... You inspire me! I'm turning 60 soon, I started racing in 1969 and was an SCCA Formula Ford Champ... I'm a CDI this year, and I can only hope that I can be active in the club until I'm close to 80. You're awesome... And your'e missed. Larry
