Hey, DQ and Ethan ran in the mid 1:52s, and Jim duncan was 1:50.something that qual session. Many San Deigo folks did really
well, but Peter Czajkowski was probably the star of the Blue Group - very fast and smart driving in his first ever Club Race!
While mine was a good time, there was more. I saw "only" 133mph before slowing for turns 1 & 2, and 117mph after the bridge.
On a colder Friday session, those were 136 and 119. Not bad for just 201 RWHP!
Otto helped with the line through 1 & 2 (later, later, later apex), but Butch was a bit more skittery than I'd like there (need more wing).
The infield section is where Butch really shines - light and nimble, with suspension perfectly set up (finally!). I'd often catch the faster
cars before entering the Oval. And, I could have run even faster tires than my usual Hoosier R-6s, but maybe another time...
Oh, and as you can imagine, the lens shield on the video camera looked like the surface at Holtville after I ran it down low on the splitter!
