To try and keep Dan happy, here are a couple more CFOS videos
Vette Chase with the joys and fears of passing on the oval: :banghead:

And my timed laps, started out and was quickest out of the box, and times dropped as tires were done:

One more. This was taken with my Droid in the first session Friday morning, so yes I missed some apexes and left a lot of time to be found later, but still fun with LOTS of passing. I don't remember if I broke 1:50 this session, the next session dropped to a low 1:48, then I left for the weekend. The car was feeling pretty good :D Need to adjust some quality setting... The 2GB HD file on the phone is too large to upload, this is a bit small, sorry.

Jad, I don't understand. Why weren't you "flat out" (floored) through the banking? :surr:

I think I could have been by the end of the weekend, but not in session 1  Have I mentioned 150 mph+ is scary

With tongue firmly in cheek, that is where I was going. Flat out in that car around there would be genuinely scary. In a 944, it's not so bad! :roflmao:

Jad - I totally hear you. I missed CFOS this year, but ran it last year. I was just hitting 150 entering turn 1 (in a bone stock 2006 C4S with RA1's and 3 point belts...) when I had to back off. My instructor (Otto) said "You can go faster". My reply - "No, I can't". That wall is scary at that speed.

Wow Jad! That looked a lot faster than the last time you were at Fontana. Was it the better tires, 20 lbs less tire pressure or different car? I couldn't catch you this time.

Jad,

Thanks for the video. I have run the infield course 4 times and the Roval for the 1st time on just Fri of CFoS. I have not had an instructor with me yet at this track so videos are valuable. Your video showed me that my line on some corners of the infield are spot on with your driving, but some others need some work, and I can see why they need work. Also, I see your line on the Roval. Helpful too.

Thanks for posting that again

In my defense, I am pretty happy with my line and slip angles, don't think I was leaving a lot of time on the table as far as that car and that setup had. You simply drove flat out, and I just couldn't keep up  You see the nice drift when I tried  Though yours hands were moving pretty quickly then as well!

In MY video, the tables were turned, though I still wasn't "flat out" . I guess I don't drive as well anymore, because I recall driving 1 and 2 flat out - just like Chuck (in Chuck's spec car  )

Cool video Jad, the car sounds great. But I think the recorded sound quality from your phone makes it sound like you lift more that you actually do and most people probably don't go flat out on Friday's first practice session. :D

Hey Jad,

I hope I made your tiny car look fast as you passed me twice! (and Very kindly, I may add)
Dang you are fast...
Thanks for passing us cones with style and yet grace of an expert racer.

Red cone.

I'm always happy to help. :P I don't think you were leaving much out there considering the street tires with 50 lbs of pressure in them. Makes for a great Tanner Foust/Steve Grosekemper impression though.

Thanks. It really is a good group of people.

Martin, I don't think I can blame the phone. This video is better (my second session), but with the light rain and high speeds, I was being a wimp and lifting a lot since I was just running for fun and not staying for timed runs. Tribute in June may be different

Mark, the Boxster did handle better once I took 15 psi out of the tires! Couldn't quite keep up, but was much closer.

Here is the other session I ran (much better video quality). Best time was a 1:48, still lots of room for improvement, but better EXCEPT for around the 10 minute mark when I believe the ABS got confused under heavy trail braking and I had a minor off in 9 (excuse #73, ABS problem  ).
