It is very interesting to see that most folks that ran last year at SOW in the opposite direction were within 1 or 2 tenth of this event in the clockwise direction.

Thanks for putting them up so quickly, Kary!

I am wondering why Roland and Mick are shown in "X" class? Were they not driving their P-cars? What kind of car was Allan (9th TTOD and shown as X class also) driving?

And OOOOOOhhhh-boy, I am waiting to hear the litany of excuses Dan C. has for getting whupped by Stacy in GP by almost 6 seconds! I know his car is under-prepared for the class, but that's an eternity....

Tom, I am not sure why they are in X class. The data came to me as a class of "unknown" so I just put them in X not knowning what unknown means.

Mick was running in AM like he normally does. Allan Faragallah was running the yellow #123 1980 911SC with the Aase Motors banner and a rear wing that looks like it belongs on a 747. There are tons of pictures of it.

He ran in X class so he wouldn't take points away from the usual AM suspects, but his car slots into AM points wise.

A lot of the classes are not right in the results based on the new rules. For example, GT3's should be in "P" not "N", and Jack Miller's C2 is now "KI" rather than "JI". There are probably some others.

At first I thought that some people may have misclassed their cars. But, Jack said that he had classified his as "KI", but the results did not capture it.

Jack also sent out a huge warning to all of the time trial entrants to READ the new rules and be prepared to reclassify based on the new rule changes, and I think that people did this in general.

I haven't heard anything about it for the upcoming Autocross, and this should be a big heads up of a potential major confusion on Sunday as we all try to figure out the new rules. A lot of people don't read the forum (no matter what that other thread says).

Thanks Kary.

Is there anywhere we can get all of our lap times?

After reading Kary's post I did some checking and it is true that the times are vertually the same. But what I find even more interesting is comparing the results to a year ago.

It seems we are getting faster...or are our cars?

I was 3.25 seconds faster this time (The Ehrman factor)
Roland 1.5 seconds
B. Brand .6 Seconds
and Mike Van Zant 8.5 Seconds!!! Thats more than adding slicks Mike! Nice drive!

Looks like Jack's TT series is actually making better drivers out of us all...Who wooda thunk?

Guys, you may very well be right about the misclassed cars, but these are the classes that came through in the file that Tom Brown sent me. Mick Rosen already said his was wrong and wanted to be in AM though Jack confirmed that Mick signed up as HM. I think this needs to go to the timing and registration crew to resolve as I only post what is sent to me. Sorry and cannot resolve this :((

If you guys e-mail me I can send you a file Tom sent me that has practice times in it. Send e-mail to pca@group9motorsports.com if interested.

Lap times

Postby Greg Phillips on Tue Jan 25, 2005 9:13 pm

Kary is ahead of posting, but I went ahead and spammed out the timing results to everyone on Jack Miller's e-mail for SOW, but if you did not get them, you can still e-mail Kary and he will send them. If not interested or find it too depressing, go ahead and delete them.

Greg, just saw your e-mail, thanks for doing that. In that e-mail also is the timed runs file. All of us should check this out if you think you are misclassified.

Tom, that's easy:

I suck. My car sucks. I'm joining the Yugo club. :( (Oh yeah, there's also that whole 600# weight difference, and 75-HP difference, but that doesn't count. GP is GP. I'll take it like a man........ waaaaa! )

Stacy drove great. He was cleaning my clock by over 10-seconds in practice runs on Saturday(Yikes  ). As my former Instructor, he's still teaching me a few things about P-car driving....... and how to lose BIG! Great driving, Stacy.

Jack: great event, great job. Really, really fun weekend. Kary, thanks for the quick posting. Chris B., thanks for the ride, I shaved a few seconds thanks to your help. John Rickard, thanks for the storage and tool uses. Joey Elumba, thanks for the skid marks in turn 2. Gary Burch, thanks for some great driving, I did get it on video  .

I'll definitely be back to SOW when the weather is cool and comfy; if anything, to reclaim the brand new wheel I "lost" in the chicane.

Had a blast. Let's do it again.

Misubishi EVO times

Postby Greg Phillips on Fri Jan 28, 2005 10:47 pm

I was just reading this month's Motor Trend where they track tested the different versions of Mitsubishi EVO VIII, RS and MR at Streets of Willow.
Clockwise with the bowl their times were from 1:31.8 to 1:32.15 on street tires! Not bad for $30k. Quarter mile times were all in the high 13's and stopping from 60 in 111 feet.
While not top ten material, that would have been faster than any of the SS and only the MS and NS classes were faster.
