Went back to back weekends at the track and we had a fun event at Buttonwillow with Zone 7 ((GGR) and Grand Prix Region.
The had a PCA Club race along with the the DE/TT event.
Steve had more fun meeting the black flag person on the grid until we let him play in the Red run group :roflmao:
But he apparently did learn the track even with the extra traffic to contend with as he ended up as TTOD with a 2:05.10 :beerchug:
I preferred to keep my wheels on the ground, but did end up 7th overall with a 2:11.79.
Try and find the pictures of Steve with <4 wheels on the track (in the dirt or in the air)

Pictures are up on Picasaweb for Sunday:

Hey!
Three wheels off is stll one wheel on!

Anyone who stayed home missed a great weekend. High 70's Saturday and jacket weather Sunday.
Pretty good rain Saturday night washed rubber off the track for Sunday and the track felt slow to me all weekend.
But any Button Willow weekend you can drive the car home/on the trailer is a good one.
If you don't need an air hose or vacuum cleaner all the better.
Thanks to all the Zone 8 ringers who stayed home to let me have my moment in the sun.
(Duncan's, Bob Brand, Mike Avitt, Kinningers, James Buck and so on)

We should try for a top 10 Zone-8 lock out for next next year.
Also makes a nice practice for our November BW event.
That event I will be lucky for a top 5 placing.

See all the regulars at Big Willow in late September.

Hey Greg,

They must have run it counter clockwise, I thought you were in the 2:07's a few weeks ago????
How was it CC, more or less fun in the 911?

Thanks for the pics Greg. By swapping run groups you actually got a few of the Boxster Brothers. :D

Bravo Steve! A well deserved TTOD. Yes the track felt a little slow to me too. Somehow Otto lost some ponies out of his corral so the while the door was open you walked right in.

Rick- No it was CW as usual. A fairly cold day Sunday and the track was rain washed. Here is a pretty clean quick lap by Danny in the silver BSX car. He found 3 seconds this weekend but went off road in the timed runs so it is unofficial. He looks pretty good here in that little street car running on only 2.5 squirrels:

Absolutely! Steve's 2:05.1 lap was outstanding and allowed the SDG Region to hold onto the TTOD for this event for the second year in a row

The "ponies out of my corral" (30 to 40 depending on outside temperature) are indeed still lost and we haven't been able to find them. My best times for the weekend were low 2:07's which is hard to swallow after driving low 2:02's on that track last year with the "same" (in theory) setup on my car. I checked my G2X lap-timer and my top speeds for this event at the end of the main straights on the best lap were about 8 mph slower than last year's top speeds, which is significant. Anyway, enough excuses. We need to find out the source of the problem which we have had since early this year. The dyno runs have been showing an extremely rich air-to-fuel ratio (under 10) for most of the rev range so obviously we are injecting too much fuel or producing too little air, or maybe both. We are going to be looking into the turbocharger next, which is a brand-new stock unit from Porsche that we replaced earlier this year after clocking 25 years on the old unit, which I had to turn in as core charge. We will also check the exhaust headers. Well, we have the summer to figure it out. Hopefully we will be in fighting form at Big Willow in September. See you there :D

He owned that track, catching up to the yellow 911

His warm-up lap (2:10) was faster than my best lap :surr:

Thanks...
I do love that track!

Nothing like 500 practice laps to learn the track.

But if I just had a clear track for that second flying lap! :banghead:
