Hello fellow SDR members & Porsche lovers,
Shannon & I are proud to introduce the Porsche that we recently aquired to our region. It's a beautiful Willow Green 1970 full restoration 914/4 with a freshly built 2056cc Big Bore sporting Weber 40IDF carbs putting out approx.125hp & 135 ft lbs torque according to the engine builder and a freshly rebuilt 901 side shifter gearbox. It also has 911 struts, 5 lug refinished Fuchs, new brakes, new Bilstiens as well as F & R sway bars w/140 lb rear springs. As you can see by our new avatar, it's a monochrome style paint job and as soon as Shannon saw it, she named it "The Grasshopper". After we get it home she hopes to get a CA vanity plate to that effect.

The car is in Kelso, WA and Shannon & I are flying up and driving the 914 the 1100+ miles back to San Diego via a coastal route which should be beautiful this time of year. She has also entered it in the SDR Concours on the 6th so stop by and check it out in person if you can and if you don't make it to that event, she is bringing it to the AX on the 7th to show it off some more....lol

Cheers, :beerchug:

Very cool little car, Joel, from a simpler time. Hope you have a fun and safe road trip bringing it home. Can't wait to see it at the AX.
Congrats,

Congratulations Shannon! ...yes Shannon NOT Joel. (I know who really owns the car. :beerchug: ) After hearing from Joel about your desire to get one, I am looking forward to seeing it soon!

John, I thought about bringing Tuffy to the Concours but then realized just how MUCH cleaning would be necessary to get him even moderately ready...and immediately stepped into the "weenie" category.

Brother Mark...you've taken the first step in the five step program, admitting weenieizum. Sadly....some will never admit it! Bring "Tuffy" out for all the tourist to see and throw weenieizum behind you, and be free! :rockon:

Joel;

Great new car. Sorry We couldn't have coordinated a pick up. I just bought a car up in Washington and had it shipped down. It is a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang. It is being delivered today.

Shannon & I knew you all would like the Grasshopper and cannot wait to show her in person.

And just to set the record straight, even though it's Shannon's car I didn't lie about it being my car also...........who do you think has to wash, wax, maintain and repair it?, the good news is Shannon has awarded me joint driving priviledges with one provision, I cannot AX or track the car no matter how badly I want to. :roll:

I think most of you know me well enough to start a pool on how long that lasts :wink:

Cheers :beerchug:
