Oct. 1 Autocross

Kudos to Mark and Jerry. IMHO this was one of the best , if not the best, AX tracks over the last two years. It allowed different strategies through the gates, it had fast sections that challenged how you set the car entering them, tight turns, throttle steering turns, a fair slalom, etc. It really challenged your driving skills and wasn't solely dependent on how big an engine you have. Even at that, some of the faster cars still set the top times of the day which shows in many cases these cars also have the best drivers. Congratulations, Paul.

P.S. I vote for Mark and Jerry as permanent AX chairs :rockon:

Some brilliant course designs lately, and especially so given the surface and available space limitations!

Kudos also to Martin and Chris for saving the day (literally) by jumping in to figure out and operate our very confusing timing system!

I have posted a couple videos from the winning lap on our website;

The site has lots of cool stuff on our cars and results.

For the October autocross videos, go to the "Videos" tab (which has many different tracks), and click on the "San Deigo Stadium" link on the left;

I'll echo these sentiments, that was a great track that was a nice deviation from the normal flow of the tracks we usually have. It was a great mixture of speed and technical...keep this design at the top of the list for a redo!

Hi Paul,
Congrats on your second AX TTOD of the year!
Lots of cool videos on your site, you have been busy!
Even Roger Kraus was bragging you used his tires for your TTOD. 8) 8)
cheers, :beerchug:

A big thank you to Mark for the great track design and the excellent instruction I received as a student.

On another topic - I have no idea if this Craigslist posting is legit or not, but see: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/tfr/2629654318.html

Looking at the track map, I thought this track layout wasn't going to be one of my favorites.
Despite the track being a bit "turbo unfriendly" I still really liked it, many changes in pace instead of as many "more of the same" corners as will fit in the lot.
Even better was the close competition for TTOD. Paul had the best combination of car and ability that day, but the top ten was close enough to throw a blanket over instead of spread out over five or six seconds.....close is where the fun is :D

Looks like they are making it part demolition derby. Too bad. But I'll try to watch on the Speed Channel when it is released.
