Go to Motorsportsreg.com to register for our last points Autocross of the season, Saturday, November 26 in the west lot of Qualcom.

Watch the battle for supremacy in the 944 Spec. class as it goes down to the wire. I am tied for first with the mighty and legendary Jackie Corwin after her superb must win performance, by .03 seconds, at the last AX. :beerchug: But I am not :surr: yet. To see that, you will have to show up November 26 :roflmao:

Good luck to all!

I am ready to see that struggle for 944 Spec supremacy. It will undoubtedly be as spectacular a battle of the sexes as the Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs match in 1973! Let the smack talk begin.

Anyone likely to be buying new tires in the next month?

The direct link for the registration page is here.

Leigh did that last month, just before the AX...so now they are all nice and scrubbed in! :burnout:

Gordon has prepped a zippy course, and is putting a few minor tweeks on it. We should have it up for public view before long.

Uhmm, Bobby Riggs won that, right?

Silly (?) question. The Motorsport.reg page points to the Z8 2012 Competition Rules for determining the 2012 car class. The "base points" in these rules are lower than the ones that have been in use (provisionally?) in SDR. E.g., 986 Boxster is 325 points in the Z8 rules (including the 25-point mid-engine assessment), but 310+25=335 in the previous SDR rules.

Which set of points should be used in determining car classes? Is there a change proposal in progress that will modify the Z8 points, or are we going to use the Z8 points as presently stated? This may not affect everyone, but I am either in CC13 (395 points under Z8) or CC12 (405 points under SDR).

Enquiring minds want to know... :?:

Someone should film it for Speed Channel. I understand Jackie will be looking to mop the floor (asphalt) with Leigh in a spectacular fashion worthy of Billie Jean Kings victory against Bobby Riggs..

As far as 2011 autox events go, it doesn't really matter what CC-class you're in. There has been no consistent collection or publication of that data this year. Next year will be a whole new ballgame, though. There are several proposals under consideration that will effect your classification next year. Check them out here:http://zone8.pca.org/rules/2011/RevisedRulesProposals2011.pdf. Most pertinent in your case, Kim, is the proposal to reduce the mid-engine penalty to 15 points instead of 25. I'm sure you'll like that one. Then there is #8 that will turn the whole CC-class scheme upside down and put you in CC4 instead of CC13. Then proposal #10 is completely reworking the base points chart, changing the weights and the rounding/tweaking scheme to be more transparent, etc., so I wouldn't even worry about what class you are going to be in until the final vote on the proposals by the region presidents is done and we see what we actually have for next year. Things are in flux and many folks will be effected by the changes.
