If you look closely at the only 951 in the event, #112 you can see my distributer cap and rotor at work  When we were leaving on Saturday I stopped to look at this car and asked them why it was missing. The rotor had broken and damaged the cap and they didn't have a spare.I had brought one just in case and was glad to help them out with my donation . :burnout: P.S. True story

For those who not only want the sights, but also the sounds (and the smell) of racing, here's a video of the Group 3 race with the 917's and 906/908/910's:

ADDED: Group 5 race with 956's, 962's, RS Spyders, and 911 GT3 RSR/Cup cars:

ADDED: Group 7 Club Race and Group 4 Carrera Cup with 934's, 935's, RSR's, and other Porsche race cars

Thanks for posting Russell.

Here's a video of my race. This guy started just in front of me. You can see Ron Mistak on the start to the left with Wayne Baker's old IMSA 914 car. I think he only lasted two of three laps and then went out for some reason.

Hey David,

Enter Coronado this next year with a bunch of us. I've heard a rumor that they are going to make Porsche the "Make" for 2012.

O.K., I've discovered many club members don't know who Norbert Singer is. He was basically the head of Porsche Race Development and Operations starting with the 1972 911 race cars (including the RSR and the mighty "Moby Dick" 935s), the 956's and 962's,and up to and including the 1998 LeMans-winning GT1. From Wikipedia:

"Norbert Singer (...) was given the job of cooling the gearboxes of the powerful 917 racers which had broken down in 1969. His first task was successful and the Porsche 917 dominated the event in 1970 as well as in 1971, the first year Singer attended the great race.
Singer was then given the task of developing the Porsche 911 road car for racing, and in doing so he created eventually what is by far the most successful customer race car that Porsche ever produced: the Porsche 935 won at the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans outright, a remarkable feat for a modified 15 year old road car design.
Following this, Singer designed the bodywork of the Porsche 956 and 962 Group C cars which won no fewer than 7 24 Hours of Le Mans titles. In the 1990s, Singer engineered the Porsche WSC open sports car which claimed two victories in 1996 and 1997, and finally oversaw the Porsche 911 GT1-98 project which achieved Porsche's 16th win, the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans."
