You beat me to it ... I was just about to post it.

For Tours, I've always believed:
1) Keep the car BEHIND YOU in your mirrors at all times. If you can't see the car behind you, slow down and wait for them ... enjoy the scenery while you're at it.
2) The REAR car sets the tour's pace, not the lead car.
3) If rules 1 and 2 are followed, no one ever has to over-drive their car, or their skill level, to "catch up" to the cars ahead of them.
4) Slower drivers should be behind the leader, not at the back of the pack. The Leader should always see Porsches in the mirror (unless there are non-Porsches in the mix).
5) "Sweepers" and "Leaders" should be talking via radios at every turn, at every traffic light/stop sign. If the Leader can't talk to the Sweeper, he/she is driving too fast and MUST SLOW DOWN.
6) Most importantly: If you want to drive your Porsche "to the limit" ... Autocross, DE, take the Performance Driving School thru PCASDR, or take a professional driving course. DO NOT ATTEMPT PERFORMANCE DRIVING ON THE STREET. (Just ask the drivers in Japan. )

Just my opinions, of course. Others will likely disagree.

Dan- Your recommendatations were excellent!!!! I have done many tours in different types of traffic conditions and especially terrain (New Jersey, Colorado and here). Each type of tour has its own inherent problems and need for driver's vigilant observations and should never be compounded by driver neglience or just plain "stupidity".

Remember, that there are many other drivers on the road when are Tours are being conducted so Dan's suggestion of our drivers being vigilant and cognisant of the fact they we have drivers of varying skill levels is important, plus we have drivers sometimes bringing small kids or older seniors to consider. We will all have fun if we pay attention to Dan's suggestions.

Two other points- all Tour Drivers to drive with their lights on and no spinouts from shoulders or graveled parking lots or other areas as the Tour regroups at several locations along the way.

I really enjoy our Tours and hope for more that I can attend. However, my best Tour memories are the many Tours I went on in Colorado with numerous twisties over 120 miles average and over 2-3 Mountain Passes at 10,500ft. elevations. Unbelievable Scenerary!!!- where Dan's suggestions were the "Rules of the Road". Rich Fatuzzo
