....................................... Sorry, the dyno can't do all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicles

............... Cost: $60.00 for 2 Dyno pulls payable in CASH at the event.
............... Cost: $75.00 for 3 Dyno pulls payable in CASH at the event.

If you are doing this for classification be sure to click the option on the registration form (I think it works now  )

The order will be first registered, first served. We will figure out a schedule for ETA on your dyno runs.
Due to time limitations, there is a 20 car max at this event, however you are welcome to watch also

JBA's full service shop features a Dyno Dynamics load-bearing eddy-current chassis dyno. Results are weather-corrected and the dyno reliably handles everything from a 50-hp grocery getter to a 1,000 hp racecar! For every power verification, you receive a color graph that charts your hp and torque curves, along with a printout that includes mph, rpm, hp, torque, ambient temp, air/fuel ratio and vacuum/boost readings throughout the rpm band. For more information, please feel free to contact JBA at 858-495-3395.

Thanks for organizing this, Martin. However, this is what our new rules say about measuring HP for Z8 competition:
If the new horsepower value is not a published figure (as, for example, a result of switching from factory injection to carburetors or ECU reprogramming) the new value must be determined by the vehicle owner by measurement on a dynamometer. The procedure for this is as follows:

Use the maximum horsepower figure generated and averaged over three successive dynamometer runs
If the vehicle has forced induction with a cockpit or driver adjustable boost regulator, the boost must be at maximum in the adjustable range.
All testing must be done with engine at normal race running temperature
The entire power train must be in its “as raced” configuration (correct exhaust, etc.)
SAE correction must be performed
Dynamometer test results must be signed and dated by the operator
If the car has adjustable engine management it must be noted and described on the Dyno Certification form.

A current copy of the dynamometer test results must be made available to the Tech Inspector or other event officials upon request.

If we want to use this session to meet the Z8 rule requirement for next season, will it be possible to get 3 pulls instead of two? I would be willing to pay more if necessary.

Thx,
TT

Ok Tom, here you go.
I will set up Motorsport.reg to get info 2 or 3 pull option.

............... Cost: $75.00 for 3 Dyno pulls payable in CASH at the event.

If there is a special form, please be sure to bring it.

JBA will also do a barbecue if we go into lunchtime...it was great fun last year!

We haven't developed a specific form yet that I know of. The new rule just says: "Dynamometer test results must be signed and dated by the operator," so if we could get them to sign and date the output of the 3 runs, that should be all we need. Those who also run in the POC GT classes could use the form that they have for this purpose to satisfy their dyno test requirements:

I'm not going to gripe about it, since $90 is as cheap as I could get it done elsewhere, but it seems to me that once the vehicle is strapped down and secured on the dyno, making one more pull after the first two is not really 50% more work or time for them. Is a $30 increase really what they need/want for that?
Thx,
TT

+1

I would like a print out of my Air/fuel mixture as well. How much extra will that cost?

my .02
now i'm broke.
tom, i like the way you think.... i'm glad you helped pushed this.
for those that want to use the dyno runs "tech session" as your poc requirements, YOU CAN NOT. i checked.
the 20 spots seems small. will the first come first served be applied to "p" cars ? sorry that might get into another subject.

They normally charge $95 for two pulls but just for you we got it to $75 for three and breakfast/lunch thrown in
Air/fuel mixture on print-out...no charge

three cars an hour is about the pace we did last year (do you really want your car rushed through?) :banghead:
I thought this was a PCA event :roflmao:

When will you post the link so we can sign up? I will be dynoing the vette. I am assuming that counts since I run with and am a member of the P Club?

I am a little rusty on motorsport.reg and am having trouble with the added question of classification.
Anybody feel like looking at it?

I am an X-class vehicle and have participated in every PCA event since january, with the exception of 2. Since I have modified the car somewhat to help with my Auto-X and Track times, I need the dyno to make sure my "points" are accurate on the Tech Sheet. Unless somebody says otherwise, I will assume I can attend this event to get the Vette dyno'ed.

I only see a problem IF more than 20 Porsches want to get a dyno run, so go ahead and register.

We will have a wait list just in case.

As I said before, we can always set up another Dyno Day right away.

BTW, thank Jim for getting us the extra discount :beerchug:

Somebody who cares a lot more than I do about AX rules should chime in here about X car points.
