PCA SDR

Hey all,

I know ive seen a handicap enabled car around. I think someone was letting wounded vets run it for AX. Was it a Blue 210?

Im looking to do something very similar in participation with the vet hospital and the 24 hours of lemons race series. I dont expect this to be a

This is in the infant stages right now and im looking for help/thoughts/donations of time/$ in all of the following areas.
* borrowing/building a race legal car with handicapped controls
* access to the vet at the hospital
* a motorhome or trailer for housing during the race weekend
* a pit crew with welding/wrenching/instructor skills

I have a trailer, a decent 944 with a cage, some tools, radios, and lemons/PCA time trial experience.

Please help if you can. Giving back to the vets on the "drive through the country" a few years ago was one of the coolest things ive done, and i really want to continue giving back. These guys deserve it.

Im working on also providing a proposal to the lemons team on why the fees should be (partially) waived and what is in it for them. Im hoping to make this low/no cost to the soldiers.

There happens to be a company in north county that makes hand controls that work with the Porsche. A factory trained Porsche tech contacted me about different Porsche master cylinders and braking options while he was installing and testing for them.

Would it help if I passed along their contact info? I'm sure they have more contacts, more vets.

Im thinking an automatic would prolly be our best bet here. Unfort, my car is a stick.

I think you may be referring to Duane Norman, recipientp of the Sharp "Victory of Spirit Award". He is active in the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). He campaigns a Blue Datsun 510. I have raced with him in HSR and he has run at Coronado.

My son, Trevor, has a '88 944 equipped with an automatic transmission, hand controls, quick- disconnect steering wheel, roll bar, racing seats, 5 point belts, fire extinguisher, etc.,etc. He has autocrossed the car at the "Q", attended the SDR Perfomance driving school, participated in a DE at Willow Springs, autocrossed in Arizona Region events, and competed last year at Firebird Raceway in PRO AutoSports, ASA racing in Pheonix.

We maybe able to help. Trevor has been in the hospital since December and is recovering, but unable to drive his car for awhile.
