INSTRUCTOR APPRECIATION DAY

A big THANK YOU from the CDIs (Larry, Sean, and Adam) to all the instructors who showed up at yesterday's special day designed to give a little back to all you men and women who instruct with such skill and enthusiasm. It's no wonder that all other regions look to us as the "bar setters". And, as usual, thanks to all those who pitched in to pull it off. Can't name you all, but you know who you are. Did ya'll get enough laps? Did Katina pull off a great breakfast or what? Wasn't Jackie's cake awesome?! Do we have the coolest sponsors (Rondeau's QualiTee and Jay Lee's Mirage International) in the world?!

Here's to a successful 2012. Hope to see everyone at the PDS in May!

Cheers, all!

Larry

Thanks for a fun and informative day. And Greg thanks for the great pictures. I feel like I have my own personal photographer.
I didn't mean what I told Bill Behun, it was meant to illustrate a point.

Thanks to all - organizers, sponsors, and volunteers – for a very enjoyable day. The instruction was pertinent and well presented, and the input on various points of interest from all the assembled instructors was outstanding. The course was smooth and fast, with enough camber changes to make it interesting, and at the end of my last session I was doing (almost) continuous laps. All in all, what fun.

Again, thanks to all, and I’m looking forward to March’s AX.

Phil

Thanks to the CDIs and regular Volunteers for putting together an educational and super fun event. The modeling of the Teacher/Student interaction was informative. Also, much gratitude to the Board who gave the go-ahead to treat the Instructors to this day! It was good for Morale. The track was great, and I’m sure the paid Corner Workers got a laugh out of watching all the crazy, skilled Drivers.

I had the most fun I’ve had in a long time! Jackie shared her 944 Spec with me and pushed me to drive it hard as if it were my own car. I was amazed by her talent, and really enjoyed being a student driving in a different car, and in a different style. We laughed so hard it hurt! Thanks Jackie, Phil and Everyone for making this day happen.

I wondered that too when I saw it!

I also caught something that Tuffy had never done before Ryan's recent tuning time with him, 3 wheelin' or pretty darn close to it.

A huge THANK YOU to Adam, Larry, Sean, Katina, Jae and all the volunteers for an extremely fun day! The breakfast was great, the caps are cool and the track was by far the best we've ever had in the SE lot. An excellent day!

-Terry

P.S. I never knew a tire could taste so good. Thanks Jackie!

Glad you had a good time

Yeah we did, it was great!
Many thanks to everyone who made it happen, you're the pinnacle of human achievement :D
While we all realize AX is our entry level venue and the rules/track layouts are setup with this in mind, it was cool to (just for once) be able to look at a sweeper aimed at K-rail and say "That's going to be OK, these drivers know what they're doing" instead of trying to be safety nanny for beginners that are assumed to make beginner mistakes.
As a result, there was enough room to design a fast fun track even in the southeast lot. Kudos to the designers.
One thing we instructors normally miss out on is receiving instruction, this event allows us to address that. We all develop bad habits that are easy to spot from the right seat or have our cars set up less than perfect (thanks Jad, you got me thinking about softening up my setup a little) but unless we have an instructor, we may never know.
In a happy world, we get to do this every year.

Thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy a great day! We hope you all were able to learn a few new tools to add to your instructor bag of tricks. We can't thank our sponsors enough, Jae/Mirage International and Katina/Rondeau's QualiTee really made this event possible...THANK YOU!!! The caps are great! :beerchug:

I couldn't agree more! Thanks Dave and Jad for the great instruction. It was my initiation into left foot braking. :beerchug:
