Here is some more detailed information about each car and it's history.

Man, I had one of these (#15) 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Cup and sold it for $15k back in 1996

My favorites are the:

1984 Porsche 962 (very fast, dangerous and fun)
1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution (fast carbon fiber bodied car)
1992 Porsche 968 Turbo RS (very rare car)

I'll take the GT1 or GT2, if anyone wants to bump me out of X cars and into a real Porsche

That would not help you :roflmao:

Originally the X class was (and still is) for Porsche racing cars, you would still be X but still the envy of all.

220 mph in a 962 a racing car from a different era when safety was secondary and a crash would end it all. But, racing wouldn't be fun if it wasn't dangerous in my opinion. :D

While a 962 not the safest car Porsche ever built it is like a Toyota Prius compared to a 917/30
Here is the frame. Notice where the brake mast cylinders are located in comparison to the front wheel centerline.
Oh Yea... and your toes.

1200 HP with "raw" handling characteristics.

And yes, I would drive one at speed if ever offered with complete amiumity from damage...

And here is the "Prius like" 956

Just a little more metal between your toes and the wall.

Wow the spaceframe looks scary @200+MPH, the aluminum rivet monocoque is better as you said, but neither is really safe compare to modern carbon-fibre monocoques. The drivers from those days definitely had more hair on the chest :D.

I'd love to drive a 962 or 956 at speed, the 917 are nice but were unstable at speed. Was probably more like flying than driving.

The reason you are getting old(er) is because you don't drive cars like that... Remember, your 8/10th is equivalent to 10/10th in human driving :D
