Borrego Tour... Woo, what a day.
Great day, everyone.
The day had all the elements of a perfect tour, and it was perfect. Everyone was punctual, enthusiastic, and above all ... patient. Great job driving and staying together, everyone. With an estimated 72 cars at departure, it was a feat of excellence by all the volunteers that we stayed together and on time throughout the day.
The weather threw everything at us except snowfall: clouds, rain, fog, sun, heat, cold ... We had it all in the 180 miles logged on this day.
The De Anza Desert Resort was the perfect end/lunch venue. Thanks to Juan-Carlos, our Host Manager at the resort for his help and assistance.
Big thanks to all the extra help from Keith V. (it's no wonder he has received Enthusiast of the Year twice, he's always there to help), Mike brown, Monica Bockman, and everyone who stepped in here and there to keep the day running smooth and on time.
Finally, Peter Dorey must be recognized for making the whole Tour happen. While Monica and I were "Lazy Buggars" vacationing out of the country, Peter designed the route, coordinated lunch with the resort, contacted Hoehn Porsche, pre-ran the entire run with a couple of stalwart volunteers, took photos, lead the sweeper group ... On and on ... Peter made the whole thing happen. Thank you, Peter, for making it a great day. You Da Man!
PS: Those who missed this opportunity should plan to make the next tour ... Slated for Father's Day weekend. Details are pending, stay tuned.
