Here's a quick video of my Best Timed lap. This course was Definitely in favor of our light weight Red Car, I was a bit worried about holding off the big rubber, higher HP Car's. All said, a great day, can't beat SD weather! Also thanks to everyone who makes these events run SO smoothly :D

Enjoy!

Yo Erik,

You do know you have a 3rd gear in there!

And nice job screwing up the bell curve ... again!

(Extraordinary work, Erik!)

Alien skillz there, Erik, as usual! You make it look so easy. That course totally confounded me. With my little 23" tires, I was back and forth between 2nd and 3rd gear five times each lap! And that right/left switchback before the slalom was brutal--I never felt like I got that right. Not my best day...I'm glad I didn't take any video, it wouldn't be pretty...

Nice driving Erik. You were really flogging it through there. Steve and I were at the rev limiter three times in the silver car, but it didn't make sense to shift.
I'm getting used to the car and I think I might drive a little more aggressively in that car now.

Thanks Don and Tom, I told numerous people I though the first 2/3's of the track was awesome! The tight corners before the slalom rewarded patience, and brake control (for non ABS cars). Many people were attacking the entry, and blowing the tight right hander. vs. breaking early and Late apexing the right hander for a good launch onto the straight.

Yes our car does have a 3rd gear :) , You can hear the Rev limiter in the video but each time it got close I was breathing the throttle as to hold the revs/speed, rather than just keep the throttle wide open and rely on the limiter to hold the car. Our Stock 2nd gear ratio Definitely helped on this track

Here's Rolands 2nd TTOD video. I'm sure many peoples lap looked like this, lots of shifting.

My Boxster gearing was almost exactly wrong for three places on this track, where I had to short shift to third for a very brief moment and then drop back to second gear, or just leave it at the limit and lose a couple of MPH. Slightly shorter or taller gearing would have made this a lot easier, but hey - every track gives different challenges to different cars.
That sharp right-hander before the slalom was a pain at first, but towards the end of the day I began to appreciate that it really taught you the meaning of "slow in, fast out" and late apexing. Trying to carry too much speed through there got ugly.
Overall, I really liked the track.
