Hey all,
There's been a lot of posts and I haven't had a chance to read them all in detail . . . but I just wanted to say a couple of things while I had a few minutes. . .
My car did it's Ol' Smokey impression at the first autoX.
I have taken it to the P dealer for this specifically 3 times.
They replaced the air/oil seperator one of the two other times that they fixed the rear main seal.
During all of these incidents, I was NEVER told I was abusing the car . . . NEVER!!!! Never told anything about type 2 overrevs and whether or not they were occuring. They couldn't duplicate the smoking and "had never heard of it before".
If I had type 2 overrevving during any of those periods, Porsche should have told me . . . . they should notify any customer at the first sign of abuse . . . what if you were loaning your car to someone? It's in everyone's best interest to prevent damage.
The third RMS happened during the "smoking" analysis . . . when I spoke to the PNA rep about it, he told me specifically that they would only replace the engine if the RMS diameter was out of spec (this "spec" is another topic completely) . . . this is after the dealer has been assuring me for the last 5 visits that they wanted to fix the smoking problem.
It was only at the arbitration that the PNA reps talked about too much oil getting in the heads (Robert, I'm so glad you were there). . . they talked about an extra pump and tube assembly that is available to solve this problem when high G cornering . . . they said it. Their own explanation of the smoking has nothing to do with the type 2 overrev.
Another thing I remembered today which I never did confirm . . . the high HP upgrade (350? if you call that high

) may include this pump and return tube upgrade.
